Opera Beta: Booking.com speed dial entry coming back after deletion

milbauer last edited byI'm using Opera beta 29.0.1795.30. I deleted the booking.com speed dial entry that comes with the default installation months ago, but recently, (last 1-2 weeks) something has been recreating it. It doesn't seem to occur at startup. Perhaps it is being recreated after every update. Is this intentional? If so, please stop. I don't like having to delete it multiple times.

milbauer last edited byIt came back again! Stop! Have you installed Opera again or have updated it? I haven't manually updated, no. It seems like programmed behavior as lestalia said they were affected as well.

milbauer last edited byI haven't manually updated, no. And what about automatic updates? Yes. I confirmed the update is bringing the booking.com speed dial entry back. I was able to reproduce it on my work machine too. Are you not affected? This might be a bit hyperbolic but it looks like Opera is trying to turn their browser into adware if this wasn't some kind of mistake they made.

Yes, i am and that's the reason for have asked about it. Every time i update or reinstall Opera, some SD entries come back.

Every time i update or reinstall Opera, some SD entries come back.Just curious are the entries that come back for you Opera partners like booking.com that Opera pre-loads into SD by default?

A Former User last edited byThe only one that I've seen continue to put itself in my SD is Booking.com, which I assumed was a paid ad placement. What other partners are there? If they're going to have paid ads, are they going to have a paid browser version to get rid of the ads?
