Would love to try Opera developer but cannot establish a secure connection

May be preventing many others from trusting the download

So far you seem to be the only one complaining about that problem.

And you will need to provide more info for someone to be able to check it:

Which browser are you using to download Opera? From which server? Which OS do you use?

Are you using Opera 12 to download it? Being a couple of years old now, Opera 12 doesn't have updated certificates ...

Using Opera 29 on Windows 10 i get a warning about the certificate but it allows me to choose if i want to continue or not.

Your link points to different site/domain than certificate certifies (a.ssl.fastly.net) - this indicates either some server misconfiguration or your link is wrong.
