Every time I try to scroll down, I have to be very careful when touching the scroll bar, because if you go only a pixel further to the right, the window will minimise. It's very annoying and it slows you down with the readjustment. Is there any solution to this problem?

Hi, when i try to drag the scroll bar with a long mouseclick,
it instead drags the whole Opera-Browser-Window and minimizes it to half the size ,
as if i drag a window to a window so they would pop up both together side-by-side (not 100% but in ca 70% of the tries).
Is it just me who experienced this? Happend since the last/newest Opera update and never got this to happen
          on other versions.

          Thanks for helps/an/or fixes, Chris

@gaustos Your problem is what prompted me to log on to the forum.

If decision-makers at Opera read messages in this forum, please take note. I have been a loyal Opera user for over a decade, but I'm switching to Edge simply because I am tired of trying to pull down the right scrollbar and having the entire browser window resize itself.

It didn't start doing that until that AI innovation, so either remove it or give us the option to turn it off. I've gone into settings and tried to turn off everything that could possible control it, without luck. So I guess Edge is the only sure solution.

The browser is not full-screen, so when the scroll bar on the right moves slightly to the right, the website shrinks and takes up a smaller portion of the screen. If you make the screen full-screen, the page freezes, and you can't perform any actions. You have to open a new page and enter a new website because canceling that page doesn't work; it just closes, and you can't do anything on that page.

I've been a dedicated Opera user for over a decade, but recently, I've encountered a frustrating problem. Whenever I try to scroll using the right scrollbar, the entire browser window resizes itself, making navigation a challenge.
This issue started after the latest upgrade to version 104.0.4944.36. I've attempted to tweak settings and preferences to no avail. I'm now considering switching to Edge as a workaround.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Is there a way to disable this behavior or is there a potential fix on the horizon?

Opera one: Opera One(version: 104.0.4944.36) on desktop using Linux Mint with Mate, Ver. 21.2

Hitting edge of screen (either right or left) to scroll and pressing mouse button causes screen to unmaximize when I want to scroll. To scroll, you must take your time, make sure the the cursor is not touching the edge of the screen, but planed on the middle of the scroll bar width and then click to scroll. Either this was never tested or was designed by someone who worked on MS Windows at one time. Each new release of Opera lately seems like is taking steps backwards instead of forwards.

I also use Opera on an iPad and doing bookmarks is terrible. You either give up and have hundreds of bookmarks on the speed dial screen or go through gyrations attempting to use mobile, which may or may not record a bookmark in a folder depending on the time of day, the weather, and what mood the browser is in at that moment. You also have no way of moving a bookmark from speed dial to a mobile folder,

I know this should probably be posted as a separate comment, but for what its worth, my two cents on how Opera is progressing backward instead of forward..
The old browser was quite decent, these newer versions not so much. The only time I use it now is a couple of sites that plaster ads all over their web pages, making their content almost useless, but Opera is the only browser that seems to block those ads, the other browsers with all available add-ons fail at blocking those ads those couple of sites.

This is annoying as hell. I hope this "feature" will be removed...

@exclover said in [Compilation] Discussions about Opera being unmaximized when trying to scroll with cursor on the edge:

I guess that after making the full screen again you're doing scrolling first.
If you first click somewhere on webpage before using scroll, then the webpage won't freeze.
Take it as a workaround until it will be fixed.

*Also, I noticed that the bug happens here on 100% scale (recommended in my case) in Windows. If I set 125% for example, the issue (I mean the freeze) doesn't happen.

And the general bug (including the freeze) started to happen yet in 103 version Developer.
So it was in 103 Stable, and it's still in 104 Stable.

If this is not changed, I will change my browser very soon. When working with a touchpad it is simply impossible not to minimize my browser window 20 times a day. It is absolutely annoying and the worst "update" I have ever seen on any browser!

There is a column of pixels on the right side of Opera one's vertical scrollbar that behaves like the title bar when clicking and dragging. Clicking and dragging the scroll bar block in Opera one sometimes pulls the window out of page and into windowed mode just as happens when clicking and dragging down on an empty spot on the title bar.

Behavior is inconsistent. Most of the time the window scrolls as expected but occasionally the window is just moved instead.

This behavior is easily replicable by throwing the mouse to the right side of the screen and attempting to click and grab the visual scroll indicator block to scroll the window up or down. imgur screen capture

Please, I ask you to return to the old edge scrolling or at least fix the problem with this new one, as it really interferes with navigation in Opera. The browser is constantly maximizing or minimizing and changing the size.

@andrew84 Nope. The problem is still here on the version (108.0.5067.29) running on Linux. I haven't tried it on Windows in a while, next time I use Windows, I'll try to remember to try.
