[Compilation]Discussions About Missing Speed Dial/Home Page Button In Opera One

I'm sure this has been discussed, but I can't find a current thread...
My browser just automagically updated, and when the browser restarted, my speed dial button is missing from the address bar. I can't find a simple (SIMPLE) way to access my speed dial page. I can go to Sidebar Setup and scroll down to speed dial to open it, but that's obviously a pain. What gives?

I am also pissed off about the missing SpeedDial. I have to turn on that syper annoyng side bar only for the speed dial, but it is not a solution.

Totally agree - the Speed Dial button has been removed and it's really bad.
Why remove it?
I'm staying on Opera 99 until it is restored.

@greenpalmer-0 I just joined opera yesterday, and thought that speed dial was just the name of the new tab page. Is that not the case? Was there something more?

The new Opera One(version: 100.0.4815.31) is missing the beloved Speed Dial button on the previous defaulted top left area of the browser. How do I get it back so that it's presence is persistent and not just a one-timer set as a browser app start page?

@teligence - I agree!!!!!! Opera needs to put the button back where it was! It is now located on the side bar, after you activate the side bar and the button. I don't use the side bar so it is very inconvenient!

@cpking Yes you can download old versions from the Opera FTP site. It won't let me post a link, so just google Opera FTP.

@Goldenfire644 Yes, but there was a very useful button at the top left of the toolbar that would take you from whichever page you were on back to the Speed Dial page - pretty much a Home button. In Opera 100 it has been removed.

I really hope that the speed dial icon next to the address bar is restored, it was a small but very convenient feature that I used many times a day. Pleeeease retore this Opera people.

I feel the same way. The short term work around is to right click on any tab. Select "open new tab."

Click on the three dots at the bottom of the sidebar which is Sidebar Settings. You'll find the speed dial option under Opera Tools - just check the box.

well... that just opens a new Speed Dial page. It doesn't replace the currently open page.

Yeah. It's just one of those many small helpful details that no one else seems to be doing that puts Opera a cut above. I really believe Opera should sqeeze it back in as I can't see it taking up space. It's one of those little big things that would not be initially apparent.

@kman198 I reported it as a bug. Hopefully they will fix it as soon as possible.

@missspeeddial It's not a bug, the speed dial button was removed. If they will accept or not the requests to return the button, only time will tell.

It's time saver - I want to be able to close the current page and go to the speed dial at the same time so I can pick something else from it.. or just type an URL.
Now?
I have to close the tab and then click on "plus" button - so it's one unnecessary extra click. Whyy opera, whyyy.

You were supposed to be the chosen one!Opera has a low market share on desktop browsers. Some genius at management decided that they must be "different".
Not realising that browsers have been incrementally improved and perfected over time, like a Porsche 911 — and that today's Chrome/Firefox/Edge visuals and features are what most users want.
