@MariChrysanthemum It's so irritating that I've started using Edge as my go-to. I like some of the features in Opera, but if a routine function such as tying in a search causes such angst, then the other browsers that users can use that don't have that problem. That said, it seems that since I applied the most recent update the flashing has stopped.
So, I ask again - is there a way to disable the search suggestions completely????
@LynZK
My settings don't show all that - just this:

And both of those were already off.
Opera One(version: 122.0.5643.51)
Opera is up to date

System:Windows 11 64-bit

When I type in the search bar, the first keystroke opens a "suggestions" pop-up window. Each and every subsequent keystroke progressing to the desired search parameter causes the popup window to flash - How Annoying! Is there a way to disable Opera's search suggestions - or at least eliminate the flashing with each keystroke? It's almost like the popup is reloaded with every keystroke.
Edge, Chrome, and Firefox build out their search suggestions without the flashing.
@sgunhouse
Trivial? Agreed.
Preferable? Of course!
Resource editor? What's that? (

I was able to find a way to change it for all desktop icons by searching the web. The only icon that it didn't change is the red "O" at the top left of the Opera browser window, so, still hoping that Opera developers add an option to select a desired icon that fits a user's preference.
Is there a way to change the boring red "O" to something like the cooler blue multicolored "O" that is seen with an Opera update (both Icon and the logo when the browser is opened?
@andrew84 Obviously. And it's related to a recent Opera update because there were no other changes with my Windows theme. How else are we to report trouble like this so that they actually respond with a solution - or at least a hope of one?
A few days ago all the backgrounds for my "bubbles" for my Speed Dial buttons changed from dark to light (Note the red "X" in the attached screenshot). I'm using Opera's Dark theme, and the page background is dark - as it used to be. How do I change them back to dark?
