Disable Search suggestions?

When I type in the search bar, the first keystroke opens a "suggestions" pop-up window. Each and every subsequent keystroke progressing to the desired search parameter causes the popup window to flash - How Annoying! Is there a way to disable Opera's search suggestions - or at least eliminate the flashing with each keystroke? It's almost like the popup is reloaded with every keystroke.
Edge, Chrome, and Firefox build out their search suggestions without the flashing. -

@teligence The suboptions for "Show suggestions before typing" only appear if it's toggled on. As observed, that toggle is only for suggestions before typing.
I don't believe I experience what you call 'flashing'. For me, the suggestion window stays relatively 'stagnant' the whole time, unless you consider the appearance and disappearance of the bottom options to be flashing, which I don't.
There might be an option in experiments, but the flags that mention suggestions don't immediately sound like what you're looking for to me.

@MariChrysanthemum It's so irritating that I've started using Edge as my go-to. I like some of the features in Opera, but if a routine function such as tying in a search causes such angst, then the other browsers that users can use that don't have that problem. That said, it seems that since I applied the most recent update the flashing has stopped.
So, I ask again - is there a way to disable the search suggestions completely????

@teligence There used to be an option under Privacy and Security, Don't know if it was removed by Opera or by Chromium.
