Support for GIF or MP4

Can forum team help assist in implementing support for GIF or MP4 attachments? This way screen capture could be shared with the development team for better understanding.
This necessity was discovered as part of the forum discussion here where I wanted to express the sequence of activities that was being done indicating what succeeded, what failed and when.
I admit that there are the following risks with video files:

Spammers/Scammers can post NSFW content. Perhaps towards this any messages containing Rich Media content can be temporarily in Quarantine till some one whitelists the same.

Disk Usage could be high. For this the server can regularly pre-process the MP4/GIF files something similar to what FB and Twitter does using standard Codecs.

Hey, thanks for the suggestion, but we don't have plans to implement that in a foreseeable future due to challenges you have outlined yourself in your post.
It would require a significant effort to address them, plus there are a lot of third-party video hosting services that you could use if you wanted to share a screen capture on this forums.
I know this is not ideal, but it's a viable workaround for this problem, I think.Best regards!
