Pinboards disappearing

@leocg Again, in the new version of Opera, the website I gave you does not give that information. So it clearly does not state that there. That page was what I was greeted with, and what Opera greets you with as a "sales pitch". Does it say anywhere on that page to go to another page that shows the pinboards are "experimental"? Use at your own risk? No.. No, it clearly does not. It was you, the moderator, that has told me that I have to go elsewhere to find that information. When I updated my browser today, I was greeted with that link I sent you. Thinking they got the issues with the PB straightened out, I looked all over prior to even posting or asking the question. You should not tell someone clearly it states something on a link, something that Opera is trying to suck you in with, when what you are saying is there, is not.

@leocg I will not be argumentative, but your reply was relatively weak. In the beginning you said, "it clearly states". To end with it's advertising main/new features. Again, if a browser is going to put something out there they can't back up, why should we believe it? It's wrong to suck people in with promises, and then hide it's in developmental stages. As a consumer, even that of browsers, it's called disclosure. I, along with others, lost a great deal of things on my pinboards, only to be told by Opera, it was in the "developmental stages". I love the idea of the Pinboards; I just want to be assured they will work and for my browser to be transparent to everyone that something they are claiming isn't fully stable at this time. Good Day!

@kathyb We are talking about different pages. Pinboards page (https://pinboard.opera.com) clearly shows a Beta together with the name Pinboards, what means that the feature is not fully stable yet.

@leocg I truly wish you would make up your mind. I gave a web addy my original post. You clapped back that it clearly states, then you changed your mind when I again asked you to show me where it stated that. You then gave a different answer, then another. Now here you are with yet again another answer. Either way, you are referring to Pinboards advertised by Opera. I saw the one you just referred to right after my boards disappeared. Then Opera released an update. That update again shows the Pinboards as their Tada. It was that release that I referred to. So now you are saying they're different things. Again, if they are the same, which I believe they are, the update did Not show that Pinboards were under development. You can't have it both ways. They either are or they are not. Yes, what you referred to does state not stable, but there has been an update since that page was created.

@kathyb I didn't change my mind, I kept the same answer since the beginning of this conversation. What I am/was trying to do is to make you understand that in a page that is clearly to advertise the benefits of a feature (or a product, any one), you will probably never see a warning about possible issues.
Anyway, I don't think that ba warning about the feature being experimental, what is kinda obvious for new ones, would be useful. Most people don't read them.
Also, if there were to be a warning, it should be in the data cleaner to alert that undesired data may be lost band advising to make a backup before. -

@pinpointedu It's a disappointing thing to say it politely that the pinboards are a "selling" feature promoted by Opera, only not to work. I have begun using a browser extension called Notion and Pocket. There's also Notebook. Those are pretty solid backups to Pinboards. I think Opera should be responsible enough to FIX the Pinboards. I lost all my students boards.

@leocg Hi. Backing up bookmarks has nothing to do with the complaint about the pinboards disappearing. The browser totes about all their features. They all should work and be dependable. Especially when they're talking about sharing and collaborating using the boards. I've been complaining about this issue for months. I'm also not alone as the very same thing has happened to others. They take the time to create, and then it's just gone. I'm not going through the hassle of backing up, when there are plenty of extensions available to organize what the Opera browser can't fix. If I'm not mistaken I've gone back and forth with you previously on this very same issue... pinboards disappear.

@qo-d Pocket is busy, and Notion is not only an extension, you can download the application to your desktop/laptop as well. The extension Notebook by Zoho does the same as Notion and you can design your notebook covers as well. My child has been using them for a year for school, at least they are dependable where Pinboards vanish. Enjoy!

@elboxd You can not back up your pinboards. Favorites yes, pinboards no. Use an extension. Again, Notebook by Zoho is an extension as well as an app you can download. Notion is the same, and Pocket is just an extension. I prefer the first 2 as I can just use the application. You can also design your notebook covers.

I love the concept of the pinboards and love how accessible Opera GX has made it, but, when sharing my Pinboard with Friends/Family, we noticed you can not change someone's permissions to allow them to edit/add to the pinboard. I originally planned on making one with my sister for games to allow easy access to news/official websites, for the both of us, but instead, she's going to have to send the links to me and I'm going to need to be on my computer since pinboards are also not yet on mobile.

@kmielczarczyk So, if I clear browser data it clears my pinboards too? Hell, why not just clear my bookmarks too, uninstall Opera, and shut my computer down too. That would make just as much sense!
