Drop down menus not working on Linux

Drop down menus are not working on any website with Opera. I see the drop down menus, and when I click it just goes away but does not take the click into account.
I disabled all extensions: same problem. I tried with a private window: same problem. (and tried the other suggested things)
I have the same issue with google-chrome, but it got solved when I add the option
--disable-features=SendMouseLeaveEvent
at the end. The same option does not exist (or does not work) for Opera. With Firefox, it works, no problem.
I have:
- Linux Mint 20.1 x86_64
- Opera 86.0.4363.59
- Firefox 100.0 64 bits (drop down works)
- Google Chrome 101.0.4951.64 (drop down only works with
--disable-features=SendMouseLeaveEvent
otherwise does not work). I found this option here.
This issue is different from this one which is on Android.
The issue seems similar to this one, which is old and normally solved.
A solution please? Thanks!

@axellea008 Since both Opera and Chrome are based on Chromium, you should see if that commandline argument works with Opera.

Exact same problem using latest Linux Mint and Opera 88.0.4412.74. Beta has the same problem. This has been my go to browser, but first there was the video playback problem, and now the dropdown box problem. Very frustrating and quite disappointing.
