Opera flashes orange in the taskbar once I switch to a full-screen window

My taskbar automatically hides, so it is very annoying whenever I switch to a full-screen window (i.e. using the Snipping Tool, or to a video game in full-screen) and it decides to flash orange for no reason, as if there is an alert. It goes away once I enter the browser, but it remains annoying regardless. Is there a solution for this?

Goto the URL
opera://downloads
and clear any failed downloads to see if it helps.Goto the URL
opera://about
oropera://update
, check for updates and make sure you're using the newest version of Opera / Opera GX. -

Most likely people here do not complain about flashing red, which is usually related to (broken) downloads, but flashing orange - which I also encounter, but have not find explanation yet.For me, orange flashing occurs sometimes (not always and only on one PC) when I switch from Opera to some other fullscreen application. It looks like Opera needs attention (wants focus/attempts to bring itself to foreground), but there is no reason to this. Switching back to Opera and then to other window clears this flashing.
Just checked with dev version 81.0.4183.0 - happened once. Can not repeat such behavior at will, thereby no bug report.

@donq said in Opera flashes orange in the taskbar once I switch to a full-screen window:
but flashing orange
I can get the orange to happen if I click Opera's shortcut to open it and switch to a different program right away before Opera's window appears. It then flashes basically saying "I'm open, but you haven't focused me yet". Chrome does the same thing. Seems like it's a behavior of Windows.
As for it the full screen issue, I need step-by-step instructions for that. My taskbar is set to autohide.

Yes, that behavior is correct.
What we are trying to solve here is a bit different - focusing attempt after just switching focus away from long-running Opera.

My taskbar is always visible, looks like this is not problem.
I would speculate that some content on some background tab wants to notify user, of course background tabs do not pop up - but Opera somehow wrongly registers such notification after switched out of focus.
I would blame MS Teams tab - I had trouble with it before - but this is just unreasoned guess (on my other systems without Teams tab I have not seen unnecessary 'orange flashes' from Opera). -

@asterwisp +1 on this issue, I'm having this on Windows 10 + Opera GX and whenever I alt tab to a fullscreen app my opera gx flashes too and it's really annoying if I start paying attention to it. One example that triggers it is just alt tabbing in and out of Genshin Impact that's set to "1920x1080 Fullscreen". I'd hope there's at least a way to fully disable opera's taskbar flashing if it's going to be this defective...
