Is there any way, e.g. through Opera://flags or custom CSS, to hide the adblock icon in the URL bar? I have disabled Opera's adblocker as I think uBlock Origin is more capable (e.g. Opera can't block ads on Youtube). However now I always have this unnecessary adblock icon cluttering the URL bar.

Icon will remain in URL bar i think unless you make changes in registry.

@frack I don't think you can remove the icon from address bar.

Yeah... i am in the same boat. I want to hide the icon too.

Why does Opera want to impose their adblcok? It's nice of them to have it a built-in, but at least it should give us the chance to disabled it completly.

If you disable it in settings, it doesn't block anything (as it should), but it still sits there in the address bar. It's just a cosmetic thing, really, but it annoys me. I don't use the VPN, the news, the whatsapp/chat integration, opera flow, cryptocurrency, battery saver and so on, and all of these can be hidden away so I have less clutter in the UI. I just wish that Opera's ad-blocker could be hidden from the address bar as well, at least when it's disabled.
