How can I import Bookmarks/Favorites ??

I think a bookmark manager like Chrookmarks for Chrome or Neater Bookmarks can help also. At a minimum, I like being able to hide the Personal Bookmarks Bar (to save space), and to get my bookmarks displayed, only when I click on the icon of my bookmarks manager extension.

RegardsThanks rafaeljvieira,
That works, although it's not the best way to work with bookmarks (I used the solution their by operauser-1). I don't get how Opera 23 could miss such basic and important feature of importing bookmarks from other browsers or files, when all the other browsers have that same feature.

As I said earlier, the next version of Opera should include an automatic importer.
Which browsers it will support hasn't been said, but I guess it will include all the usual major ones!

The next version doesn't support importing. I'm using Opera 24.0.1558.53 and it is without a bookmark manager or organizer. It's inexplicable and a deal breaker. It's self-destructive programming. Of course, anyone who switches is going to want to keep their bookmarks. Mind boggling.

You can enable bookmarks on opera:flags and the access the bookmarks manager on opera://bookmarks/

I've got the same problem. I was using Opera 12.17 but this keeps crashing. I was told this wasn't the correct version for Win 8 so I downloaded Opera 24.0.1558.53.. When I upgraded nothing was mentioned during installation about importing my bookmarks.
I can see how to bookmark pages I visit but haven't a clue how to 'import' my previous bookmarks, and there's quite a few.Unfortunately, I don't understand what is meant by 'You can enable bookmarks on opera:flags and the access the bookmarks manager on opera://bookmarks/'. Could someone explain in very simple terms what I'm supposed to do?
Thanks in advance. -

Type into your address bar - opera:flags
Hit enter
Now scroll down to Bookmarks and "enable" it

Hi @johnmac99, you can enable it as follows: go to the address bar, and type "opera:flags#bookmarks", then press enter, and then select "Enabled" from the drop-down list:
Restart the Opera, go to the address bar, and type "opera:bookmarks", press enter.
Additionally (if you don't mind, of course, and maybe other users will benefit from this), you can also:
-
press "Ctrl+D", to add the link to the Bookmarks Manager page on the Bookmarks Bar (to have easy access to the Bookmark Manager at a later time.),
-
open a new tab, and drag and drop it from the Bookmarks Bar to the Speed Dial page:
- after you open a web page, you can easily add it to the Bookmarks:
-
to the "unsorted": just click the "star icon" on the address bar, and click "View in bookmarks",
-
to other default folder: click on the "down-arrow" symbol, and select the name of one of the folders from the drop-down list,
-
create new folder, click on the "+" (or "New Folder"), and press enter (or click "Add" button), then click "View in bookmarks":
You can also add a web page to: Speed Dial, Stash, or the Bookmarks Bar, using the Heart menu:

I've actually copied the "Bookmarks" and "Bookmarks.bak" files from Chrome's User Data's path "C:\Users\Stoyan\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default" to the Opera Profile's path "C:\Users\Stoyan\AppData\Roaming\Opera Software\Opera Stable" and replaced them. It's working pretty well and I think you can do it with most of the browsers.
