[Request]Opera GX on Linux

I have no issues beating a dead horse. Opera, you already have a browser working in Linux. There are plenty of Linux programs in place, like sensor readings for hard drive and CPU temperatures; activity per core on the CPU; ability to see how much RAM and swap space are being utilized; and the list goes on. Heck, you can see much of that just by running the "top" command on Linux. Surely if such simple programs can do what GX does on Windows, you should be able to do it easier on Linux, especially since it's all open source. Heck, even Windows is getting on the bandwagon. As they say, adapt or die. I for one will stop using Opera on either Linux or Windows if GX is not available as a viable browser by Q4 of 2021. The clock is ticking and the gauntlet has been laid down.

@asandikci Neither Leo nor I have anything to do with this. It's up to Opera Software, we are just volunteers. Though if they get to a point where they want someone to test it, they know how to contact me.

@sgunhouse oh sorry, you are right. But do the opera authorities know what we want?

@asandikci I'm sure they do, at least one has posted in this thread before. But with the diversity of Linux systems it is far from trivial to implement some of GX features on Linux.

Hello
an avid user of Ubuntu and soon POPos,
I use windows too on my big PC and macbookpro /ipad pro, Android phone...
I Can't Just Believe that i can get GX on Every platform and OS and sync it but on my server-servicing/coding/UI mastering, precious oem IBM ThinkPad with Linux We Don't Have An Native Port Of GX???? or at least some beta GX for linux??
What Year Is This , am considering switching back to chrome to sync my thing because the server/coding linux is more important to sync to big PC and Mac than to leave it unsynced with other web browsers , i love opera and GX with the therapy music and The Marvelous clicking keyboard (that would be just ohhh so good to pair with my old OG mechanical keyboard on the ThinkPad laptop ) whyyy how can this be, it would take One person to port this in a shell to Linux, just a beta one with open source and have to help you the Linux community with bugs, Please .This is in 2032 just Not acceptable

Seriously though for real no jokes I'd be so happy if Opera GX was on Linux. I think they would gain at least another one million users, maybe more. Opera GX is legendary, it should also exist on legendary distros....

Bumping this thread, I would like to see a native version of GX on Linux. However, I will test GX on WINE to see if that works. Wish me luck.

I have done some testing, and it seems that (for now) it's not possible to run Opera GX with the WineHQ software

Another great thing about Opera GX in Linux, is the RAM limit feature, as a common use for Linux is breathing new life into old hardware, and the limited ram would be better utilized, make this happen Opera!
