How do I download an Opera 68 installer to get rid of the horizontal tab cycler?

With the forced switch to the horizontal tab cycler, which takes an appreciable time to appear when I hit the key and only shows six tabs, Opera has become completely unusable for my workflow. This is an extremely user-hostile move.
I am either going to have to install an old version (maybe 68?) and disable updates, or find another web browser.
Is there any way to download an Opera 68 offline installer?

@atomicthumbs Download it from the several times mentioned FTP
Don't forget to be offline during the installation and to disable auto-update before going online again.

Unfortunately, those techniques don't prevent it from updating to the newer versions with the inferior, slower tab cycler. Is there something I'm missing here?

@atomicthumbs add --disable-update switch in shortcut's properties (target field)
*Additionally you can also remove 'opera_autoupdate.exe' (or better rename it into opera_autoupdateDisabled.exe for example ) -

@andrew84 I did both of these things, and it still updated, though it took a bit. I suspect that these Task Scheduler entries are at fault. They're set to run once a day and at system startup:

@atomicthumbs Maybe you need to download the offline installer and then disable Internet access. After that install Opera and repeat the 2 steps above and enable Internet again.
*I noticed that recently Opera started to update immidiatelly after being installed, it simply doesn't give enough time for disabling the updates.
I had the same problem, after Opera is installed and auto runs after the installation I see update notification almost immidiatelly (after 2-3 seconds passed) -
