I am sad about this controversy, I am sure Opera is in full damage control and the frowned upon practices will stop.
I am not going to stop using Opera or Opera mobile. I will weather the storm.
Opera is the best desktop browser for my needs as a power user. -

But I said that the Opera VPN is not secure because it is still possible to track where the user has logged in with the appropriate tools.
If it needs encryption and does not has, then sure.
But dedicated VPN services would not log but be also unencrypted.Thats what I am talking about: The Opera VPN setting; when I set it to
Asia = shows no location at all
North/South US = shows Dakota/US
Europe = shows nothing, or ones it says Fance ...See here

I've tested on a Clean Profile and the result is the same, the detected IP came from the Opera VPN server and not mine.
So, try those URLs:
And some others.

Share which you've tested and shows up the origin IP.

I don't know.
Maybe an extension or Flag was involved?
A Bug on older Opera versions?
OS changes? At least for now you know it's working.
Keep testing it to be sure.Your other check websites work fine too?

Ja, most of them are correct, but some sites are sometimes in Sveden, or in Ukraine. An hour ago I had the same site (gmx net) in Paris and then in Ukraine
Well, its not that bad, just strange ...My Add-Ons the same since month, I don't change my system not that often.
BTW
I use Linux openSuse Tumbleweed as main, and Leap 15.1 is my alternate; and also have windows 10, but don't use it very often ... And I haven't test all this on Windows yet. -

@senix The problem is on the sites that you are using to check the location. They are guessing it wrongly.
Hallo,
If you delete my post, because I don't understand yours in this translation, then maybe next time please let me know, so I know why; furthermore I wanted to write to you, with a PN, doesn't work either, because you deactivated it. Also as a mod you could (maybe) be reachable if users have questions. Delete and move posts, that seems to be your hobby -

@leocg
That makes no difference.
It would have been nice if you sent me a message, or just put the translation underneath. Then everyone would have understood, just delete posts, that's...
And that's why I was, or I am still mad, because it wasn't the only one of my posts that you delete or move.
