Can't get Opera to open after Windows 10 upgrade yesterday. I have tried to re-install it using 3 different browsers and once the install is complete the icon does nothing. I deleted the program but I can not remove the Opera stable program. I am not tech savoy, so please keep it light ...thanks

@dilynn25 Ok, from reading on this forum, maybe it wasn't a windows update, it might have been a Opera update. All of the sudden I got a message that I need to restart my computer and then it said it was updating and afterwards I couldn't open Opera. I've deleted and installed it 7 times now and I've run all my virus, and tune up programs and still I am unable to install Opera. It goes through the motions for installation and at the end I get to a screen to set up my default app, which has an Opera icon but does absolutely nothing. Please help...

@sgunhouse Thanks for your response. I am not sure what the update was as I was just walking past my computer and it said it needed to be restarted so I said ok and then I saw it was updating. I usually don't worry about that stuff. Once it restarted my Opera was not accessible. I was able to delete an Opera app but the Opera stable app can not be deleted.

@sgunhouse I'm thinking it was an AVG update because AVG became my browser. I deleted the program/app afterwards but I still can't download Opera

@leocg Hi, sorry, I'm really upset that this has happened and I don't see a way to get it back...anyhow...No I don't see it in the task manager. I will try to download it again, right now...

@leocg Opera goes through the motions and then just ends with my computer settings page and an Opera icon on my windows 10 screen that does nothing

@dilynn25 I've also gotten a msg from Opera afterwards saying that this version of Opera can only be downloaded on window's version 7 or higher and to go to Opera.com I am using windows 10

You could try uninstalling, then pressing Windows + r then write %appdata% then look for the Opera Software folder and then delete it. Try installing again

@albiceleste101 Thank you I just tried what you suggested but in roaming it only gave me the option to move to my recycle bin...
I could not find a way to uninstall in that screen once I chose Opera
