Not Secure, at the very least password should be masked

@rexneb: I'm probably the only person that uses GX, and i can assure you, you definitely can bypass the password.

@haydenwalker980

If not sure we need to know how to fix it or not use it anymore...

@bienfp If you launch Opera with 2 tabs or more : click "cancel" it will ask if you are sure to quit because of the other opened tabs : click cancel : bypass password
If you launch only one tab, right click on Opera icon, open new tab, do the same as above : bypass password.

@rexneb I tried it this morning, I have portable opera version 66.0.3515.72, with opera lock version 5 extension. 1, 2, 3 tabs don't change anything, when I hit cancel, everything is shut down.
So far, appart from the ***** password issue, I didn't find how to go around this extension. -

@Opera-Comments-Bot Hi
I forgot password to Opera Lock. How can I enter? -
maxzanna last edited by Apr 2, 2020, 4:57 PM
@rosek97 I'm afraid it's not possible. At least I haven't found a way.

@nenadppx Yes ok, I'm using opera in Italian (like me)

@rexneb Yes, but as we have already said in order to work this extension needs that the option in opera browser: "Warn on quitting Opera with multiple tabs open" must be disabled.

@sutskn You need to remove and install the opera extension again. A little rough method but it is simple and the only one that I know of.

@sutskn,
I'm not sure you can uninstall an extension without passing this password problem of yours.
I would uninstall Opera Browser completely. However, windows often leaves behind some files that may be a problem as they might refer to this password extension.
What I do, and may be done with another software, is use the function "uninstaller" of "iobit toolbox". It a freeware, and after uninstalling Opera, it will offer to scan for remaining files and give you the choice to remove them all.
When this is done, you can easily install Opera again. -

password is visible when typing and it is a security risk. usually it should be * or a Dot.

i created a new extension like this but my extension has some new features. you can check it out Browser Lock

@humbldump I've tried your extension and it looks awesome, but there is a huge bug. I see when you open Opera, it closes the main window and asks you for a passcode in a new window. If I press CTRL + N shortcut I will get my main screen. Then I'm able to close the BrowserLock screen and continue to use the browser and see all data.
Let us know when you find a solution! Thanks!

@nenadppx Thank you so much for your feedback. When i creating my extension i was working on chrome. Opera has different window create type from chrome. This bug happening only on opera. bug will be fixed in 1.0.3.
