I use the last version of Opera for MacOS. And the option to retain tabs from previous session simply doesn't work. Every time I close opera window all tabs including pinned ones are lost and new session opens empty opera window.

@leocg other changes like bookmarks and custom search engines are kept. What's clean profile?

The "Retain tabs from previous session" feature still does not work after browser restart even on the latest version of Opera (68.0.3618.165) -

Re: "Retain tabs from previous session" doesn't work.
So, rather new on MAC, and the issue with lost tabs when closing is annoying. I use Opera as work browser ... lost a lot of things.
But most of the time it was because of me, not Opera.
- as a windows user, i know that closing an app from "x" will close it. unfortunately, not on MAC. on MAC you are closing the window, not the app.
- if i right click and close the browser and then reopen, the session will be restored.
I think this is not a bug, but an uncovered OS behavior that influences the behavior of "Restore Previous session". Thus making it rather unreliable.

Something to add:
First: i apologize, this should have been a reply on an existing thread.
Second: "Thus making it rather unreliable." sounds to hars. It is an OS specific situation.
Three: it is still quite annoying -

For reference.
macOS works a bit differently. Closing last window doesn't close application. This is indicated by small dot under icon of application in Dock. In such case pressing on application will open new window .To restore previous windows in such case recently closed option can be used to reopen last closed window. It's available in History menu.
