When I open Opera a second Opera opens behind it

When I open Opera a second Opera opens behind it. Also when I click on an external link a second Tab opens with an advertising website. Does this happen to anyone else? How do I eliminate this problem?

@friscobeat If you open that link in another browser, do you see that advertising page?

Sounds like you have adware or malware on your system.

There have been a couple of cases where Opera extensions opened ads - so what is the ad for, and what extensions do you have?

most often it is a website called "best file converter" Easily convert .doc files to & from PDF directly from your new tab page". Only happens on Opera. I have a number of extensions. What are the dangerous ones?

@friscobeat If you set another browser as the default one and then open an external link, does it also show an extra page with ads? If possible check with the same link that causes it in Opera.

@friscobeat You need to disable all of the extensions and then go enabling one by one until you find one to blame or even none to.
