How can I stream videos with Opera?

There doesn't seem to be a built-in media player on Opera.
The add-ons tab shows I need to go to Adobe Flash player website and download their player.- Is there a free and open-source video player which can be installed onto Opera?
- Is Adobe Flash the ONLY player that can be used?
- What is the most secure and anonymous way of streaming with Opera?

Many sites have their own HTML-based streaming media players. That is not what you need.
What Opera does not include is a number of codecs - look on your distro's software installer for an appropriate version of the Chromium codecs package - and also recently the widevine content decryption module. If you install both of those, Opera should work.
