Why Opera sucks now!

Uhmm... this is an Opera "helps" forum, manned by other ordinary Opera users (not by Opera staff) who simply help users voluntarily with technical problems or questions. As such, you're not likely to get a lot of satisfaction here by profanely registering your complaints about new Opera versions or attacking Opera's design motivations, though you might succeed in stirring up some turmoil among other users. Moreover, if you just search a little, either on this forum's index page or using the search box in the upper corner, you'd find that there are already a fair number of complaint threads running which offer an opportunity to vent your frustration without clogging up the index for users having genuine technical issues and questions. Just sayin'

I stopped using Opera and only check once in a while this forum to see if the new version came out so I can check it out and see if its worth coming back to Opera. :rip:

You don't need to visit the forum for that. Just subscribe to the Desktop Team Blog to learn about every new release.

I came back to Opera, after some time of being unistalled for some uncomfortable reasons, only to find out, that it comes preloaded with some sh1t I do not like. While I am in China actually, I pretty hate to see on the main page with baidu search, as i will sure never use it, and hate to see it all the time. and there is no way to change it.
or, is there any way ? -

There is:
Please search before posting, and remove the profanity from your posts. We don't like to see that on these forums any more than you like to see things that you don't have any use for in your browser.

Yes... Opera sucks now. I just did a search for "new opera versions suck" and found this thread. I understand that this might not be the proper forum, but I also want to vent with the OP.
I've been limping by with Opera 12.16 on my old laptop for a while, waiting for these new Chrome versions (15, 17, 18, now 19?) to stop sucking. I just installed 18 on my new laptop... Nope, still sucks. I've been using Opera for 8 years now and it looks like it is finally going to fail me. Really, Opera link doesn't even work? They've made it even more annoying to search with something besides Google? Bahh..
Maybe part of the Opera Dev team could pick back up where they left off with the Opera 12 platform and just keep fine tuning that engine. -

Feel better now? If so, then this "helps" forum has fulfilled its purpose.

Yes... Yes I actually do feel a little bit better. But not because of your cheeky post. Only because I uninstalled Opera 18 and installed Opera 12.14 I downloaded 12.16 but before installing I remembered that I needed to roll back just a little bit more to avoid the "fix" that prevented permanent changes to the default search engine.
I suppose I will keep running 12.14 on my computers until either:
A) The link / synchronization stops working with Opera 12.
Opera finally gets their crap together with the new versions. Maybe version 21 or 22 will work.Perhaps other Opera uses that google "New Opera Versions Suck" will come across this post and find it helpful. Here, I'll make it even more helpful with a link to Opera 12.14:

And I'm so glad that a troll could take the time out of his busy day to post such a helpful comment. I thought I was on Reddit for a minute there.

There is good and bad to everything, even to the soon closure of these forums - this will put an end to the pitiful leushino's public self-humiliation. -

What's most distasteful and unhelpful about these forum threads are the condescending, completely unnecessary, and certainly not "helpful" scoldings of some of the self-appointed bearers of the wisdom of Opera. Good grief, there's not been much "help" to deal with all the shortcomings of these new versions of Opera, and if many users, longtime ones in particular, vent their complaints here, maybe, some of the Opera developers or workers will see them. But then again, their business sense is so wack, they might not care to see how their recent work is being received.....

The folks who help with technical problems in these forums are not Opera employees, they're volunteers. That's how these forums have worked for all their years of existence. And there's absolutely nothing these helpers can do about "shortcomings of these new versions of Opera" - they're not developers, nor do they have some kind of secret pipeline into Opera to influence development. Opera's developers respond primarily to comments in the various version development/release blogs, not to posts here; some of the devs may scan these forums from time to time and help in the properly-labeled threads about genuine Opera problems if those problem areas match their areas of expertise and they have the time. But they almost never respond in any way to the complaint threads, leading me to believe that they only rarely even read them... and I say that having read nearly every one (if not all) of the complaint threads in this forum and the Opera-Windows forum since before New Opera officially arose.
I'm not a fan of New Opera; in fact, my primary browser currently has become Firefox 26, with Opera 12.14 being a backup for many sites I know work on it. I prefer 12.14 to Firefox, but I feel the need to become adept at tweaking Firefox and its extensions, since there's a possibility that Opera may not evolve in directions that meet my needs by the time Old Opera becomes truly obsolete or insecure. On the other hand, perhaps it will evolve in the right direction, so I stay tuned here. But I still come to these forums to help users with problems with which I feel I can contribute, usually in the Old Opera area. However, the complaint threads and postings have now come to clog both the forum index and many of the technical threads themselves, and it only makes locating and helping users with genuine technical problems more difficult. The misinformation, unfounded accusations, and acidic rhetoric often scattered amongst the general complaints only act to poison the entire atmosphere, which may be the intent of angry users but is hardly constructive nor justified.
During the initial phases of the New Opera releases, I contributed my own share of criticisms coupled with explanations here and elsewhere - mainly because I believed it could do some good, and perhaps it did at the outset. But after 6 months or so, the same old complaints about New Opera have become repetitious and monotonous and increasingly nasty-toned. Whatever can be said, has been said - hundreds of times over. Whatever clever criticisms and sarcasms that can be expressed, have been - dozens of times over. Regardless, Opera is going to develop its free browser in whatever direction Opera itself chooses, for whatever reasons and in whatever ways it deems important. We all need to get on with our lives and realize that.
To reiterate, these forums exist purely for helping users with technical problems. Complaints can't be "helped with" and they only serve now to clutter the forums amidst postings from people with genuine technical/usage problems. It's time to give the repetitious complaining a rest.

I was just about to do the same — But Bookmarks are back! (Opera Next 19.0.1326.26) — I guess that settles it for me as Opera 12.16 is almost unusable on Mac OS/X.
Opera 12.16 crashes quite often on Mac OS X and the restart after crash function being thoroughly broken. One would be much better off without.

Your photo is childish and your claims to have been using Opera from day one (or does Sept. 2013 qualify?) are undoubtedly made of the same thing your photo is. You're just another troll to put on my ignore list. Bye bye...
