Hi,
since a few days Opera is very slow for me. It doesn't matter what Version it is. Both Developer and Normal Edition are both slow. The Microsoft Edge browser can load pages as usual fast, while Opera times out everything. Disabling my Windows Defender Firewall or Bitdefender only helps temporary, as the issue gets back. I am using 58.0.3135.53 for Normal Opera and 59.0.3211.0 for Developer.
Thanks.

@thaumictom I have a default Google search engine.
I would like to change it to DuckDudckGo as a search engine, how do I do it?
I have a Windows 7 operating system.
I have an updated Opera browser for my laptop computer. -

Weird.
I've just checked it with Firefox and turns out it works with Firefox. Opera still times out. So it's probably something on my PC or Opera.

Some (especially) french people had problems with their Internet. All France had this issue, not sure if you live in France, though. But Opera does this everytime, not a DNS error but a Time out error. There are some rare cases in which Opera loads the pages as normal. I really dislike Firefox, but it's my only choice as of now.

@thaumictom said in Opera times out at every page load.:
Bitdefender
Bitdefender is somewhat known to mess with Opera's connections and ram usage. Can you completely uninstall it for a while (not just disable it) and see how things go?
You might be experience https://productforums.google.com/forum/?#!msg/chrome/s5S1uPI0kMc/XVDVfgT2GAAJ? too/instead.

I have uninstalled Bitdefender already. Not sure if there are still items of it, but it should be deinstalled.

Does Chrome behave the same way? If you open Edge and IE and leave them open while using Opera, does Opera behave better?
There's a registry fix in the thread I linked to. Trying it might help.
