Opera 36 Won't Log In To Synchronise

I noticed the other day that my installation of Opera 36 on my old Windows XP machine had logged out from sync.
Now I can't get it to log in again, it just shows a progress rotating circle icon permanently.
Has anyone else noticed this, and is anyone else still logged into sync with this version?
I hope it hasn't been blocked because it's now deemed to be too old!

There are other reports around here in the forums.
I guess they may have updated something in the server and/or in Opera and now old versions no longer can login. -

@leocg
Well that's annoying if it's true.
I can't see any reason for them to do that unless a change has been made to the sync system at the server end which has made it incompatible with Opera 36 for some reason.
Is there anyone else still using Opera 36 who can confirm if there really is a problem or whether it's just me?

Only person I can think of still using XP is Josh, but I don't know which Opera he uses.

I tried it with Opera 36 on Win10. I can't log into Sync with it, FWIW.
