graywoulf last edited byI have searched this forum and I did not find the help I need. I am trying to listen to live streaming online radio broadcasts but there is no sound when I click on the play button on these sites. I have disabled my ad blocker and I do not have any browser ad ons that would or could interfere. None that I am aware of anyway. I have no problem listening to any of these live streams using Chrome. I do not have or use IE 11 at all so I cannot try that browser. I do not know what else to try in order to remedy this situation. I am using Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit SP1 with my Opera browser. If you need any further information, I will be glad to tell you anything you need to know in order to get some assistance with this issue. I sincerely hope that I have explained my situation clear enough to be understood. Thank you. graywoulf

sgunhouse Moderator Volunteer last edited byHmm ... my local AM station plays audio, but isn't actually streaming at the moment as they only stream local content - though I can hear the audio telling me this. 700 WLW out of Cincinnati streams through iheartradio at https://700wlw.iheart.com/ and works. Mind you, at the moment I'm using Opera Developer, I'll need to check it later in Stable to make sure there isn't a bug there.

graywoulf last edited byThank you for your response. I have tried four different local stations both AM and FM stations not that it makes a difference but they all have links to their own separate streaming page which I have made sure that I have the ad blocker turned off when I click on the play button but it just sits there with no sound. I do get an indication that it is streaming as I see a pause button but like I said no sound. When using Chrome, there is no problems at all which tells me that there is no issues with my sound card in my laptop as well. I can watch YouTube and any other video source such as Vimeo or any other such video websites. This has me stumped. I am fairly tech savvy when it comes to my PCs and I am usually good at troubleshooting as well but like I said, this has me stumped. Please let me know what you find out with your stable version. Thanks again. graywoulf

graywoulf last edited bySorry, but I don't understand what you mean by the WLW stream. Here are the two stations that I am most interested in listening to. https://tunein.com/radio/WKSK-580-s30396/
https://onlineradiobox.com/us/wxrc/I hope that helps. Thank you for helping out. graywoulf

graywoulf last edited by@sgunhouse said in I need assistance with live radio streams.: Well, no luck here.
I was really hoping that you would have the magic spell.
So, what did you mean by the "WLW stream" anyway? I'm curious. So, I guess that means that you tried both of the links I sent to you?graywoulf

graywoulf last edited by graywoulf@sgunhouse said in I need assistance with live radio streams.: The link in my earlier post to WLW 700 from Cincinnati. Really doesn't matter as your links didn't work for me. Only thing to try would be a user-agent switcher to convince them you're using Chrome. You are not going to believe this but I am listening to WLW 700 right now. This is the first streaming radio station I have listened to with Opera. Why this one works and the others do not is baffling. As far as the stations I want to listen to here, I will just have to use Chrome I guess. I appreciate that you have been so helpful. graywoulf

graywoulf last edited byWell, you brought my attention to a new browser that I had not heard of. Is Vivaldi a product of Opera as I just read about? graywoulf

graywoulf last edited byI saw that information somewhere last night. I watched a few videos about it and I even installed it but I could not successfully get it to import my bookmarks or speed dials. That plus the fact that it looks so much like Opera, I decided that I was not interested in it so I will stay with Opera. Another mark against it was that you have to add an ad blocker as an extension instead of it being built in. I don't see what all the fuss is about with Vivaldi overall. graywoulf
