How do I make a new tab open immediately when I click on the Mouse Wheel to open a link in new tab, so that I don't have to switch to the new tab manually?

Have you tried a left click on the link? Middle click is to open in background tab as far as I know.

@leocg
Yes, but it opens in the same tab. I want to open links in a new tab while saving the current tab. -

Try holding down ctrl or alt or shift or some combination of that when you middle-click. If that doesn't work, try those with left click.
Ctrl + shift with left-click does the trick at least. Just shift opens in a new window instead.

@bur
Those all work. Also, I found (by accident) that holding down just the Shift key while middle clicking works as well.I wish there were a way to do it without having to hold down a keyboard key. But Que será, será!
Thanks guys for all you're help. Best wishes and have a great day.

Maybe https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/details/classic-tabs/ has the option you want.

Or use gestures, or modifier keys.
