I am on Opera 54.0..2952.71 version.
When one updates Opera it does not automatically offer an option to create a Desktop Shortcut.
One has to use Explorer and manually create one.
With this latest version I have had to do this several times as the Shortcut keeps disappearing from my Desktop and I have to manually recreate it only a day or so later to find the Shortcut has once again disappeared.. Any ideas as to fixing this?
It would be best if during programme update the option to create a Desktop Option was shown, -

To create the shortcut, right-click on launcher.exe and choose to create the shortcut on your desktop. Is that how you're doing it or are you creating a shortcut to opera.exe instead?

@neilf784 Do it from launcher.exe instead. The path to opera.exe changes with every update. Or, do as @sgunhouse said and download and run the installer to install over your existing install and choose the option for the desktop icon this time.

@neilf784 also if ya that opera.exe shortcut is on your desktop - right clck & pin to taskbar = automactic changes the opera.exe to Launcher.exe..
then start opera with the new taskbar shortcut
