@leocg Opera started up yesterday saying it had upgraded and that I needed to restart. When I did the first page had this message about winning a MacBook. Here's the link: https://www.opera.com/client/upgraded

@sgunhouse You might be absolutely right. I too had seen it, running on MacOS

Good Day!
I received the same message.
We were scammed again.
I clicked the button and it took me to a Facebook URL to sign-in.
I signed on to Facebook.
My home page displayed on the screen.
Remember: Nothing is free; no even an opportunity to win a prize from Opera for being a user of their browser.
What opportunities have people who clicked on the link and signed into Facebook now lost?

I use opera for better privacy. I find it rather sickening I have to sign in with Facebook to follow the link. I don't have a FB account nor do I want one!

@jonkokko This scam has been going on in one form or another since at least early 2013: http://www.708media.com/scams/facebook-free-macbook/
Whether it's arriving by phishing eMail, smart-phone popups, rotating ad-servers on legitimate webpages, or whatever, it's still a scam. Part of the scam is simply to get users to visit or click on something to raise its rankings and further spread the scam.
