Is there a way to roll back. Its unusable on High Sierra. Have to constantly restart laptop after it freezes. Back to chrome for now. Ridiculous.

Roll back is easy enough, the problem is blocking the auto-updater. Opera's FTP site has all the released versions for the last several years, just pick the one you want. I'll let someone who actually uses a Mac post the details on disabling the update checker though ...
