Hi
I use the latest Opera Mail on Win 7. When I permanently delete a message it usually instantly reappears. Can't seem to solve this irritating problem
Thanks for your help -

@pauluspaulus
Are you removing the messages from the server when you download them?
If not, they may well be downloaded again.

Is this with IMAP or POP? What mail provider?
If IMAP, on the "IMAP" tab in the account's properties, do you have a trash folder set?
When you say "delete permanently", are you referring to shift + del (or right-click -> del -> delete permanently" or are you just referring to moving messages to the trash and then emptying the trash?

Hi
Yes
Opera is the client for my Gmail account. The settings are to delete messages from the server when downloaded. Thanks for responding so quickly. -

Thanks for responding so quickly.
Yes, it is Gmail so this may well be the case. The Gmail settings are to delete messages from the server when downloaded.though - so I don't really understand what's happening -

Hi
This relates to my Gmail POP account. By delete permanently I mean marking the message, right clicking and selecting Delete permanently -

Hi again
It appears I do not have a trash folder for this particular account and don*t seem to be able to create one either. How do you do it? -

My recommendation, enabe it as IMAP from GMail and reset it on OMail - if didn't know about it, look at its differences -.
