So you'll support Google's browser sniffing which bars antitrust? OK.... -

I had this same problem starts for me today, and I don't have the slightest clue what to do to fix it. Has anyone been able to get Google back to normal on their browser, or are we just going to have to wait until Opera fixes this themselves?

Why not try Google out of the Disconnect Search extension (in the Opera store)
https://addons.opera.com/en/search/?query=Disconnect+Search+
Here's something about it.
See if it makes a difference. You can set it to search from the address bar, or from the separate Google Bar. You can also use other Search engines. One difference is it prevents you from being tracked. No one knows the search query comes from you. They think it comes from Disconnect. But I'm thinking that since the Search Query goes through Disconnect, maybe it will solve your problem and you won't get that bizarre situation -- crazy results.
Of course, you could change your search engine. Try Bing, Yahoo, Duck Duck Go or another. Or try reinstalling Opera 20.

How about waiting for Google to fix this since the problem is on their website not Opera's. -

I can't follow the question here.
google search result changed display to mobile ver because search button and quick search bar auto add client=opera and sourceid=opera to search url.
Reason maybe google mistake this url is from mobile browser. And without there variables google search engine recognize opera as safari -

Any solution for this annoying problem? It takes a lot of time to search for images with this old google interface. Please correct this error as soon as possible. Thanks a lot in advance.

Where exactly is this link? I can't seem to find it. And how exactly do you clear google-specific cookies? -

A thought: First try this. Go to Settings, Privacy and Security, and click on "All Cookies and Site data." See if you have google specific cookies there, highlight them one by one, and try deleting them. My guess is that it's done by clicking on the X all the way to the right for the highlighted item.
Alternatively you could clean all your cookies. A housecleaning. Lol. Surely the Google ones must be there. See if that makes a difference. I've never tried eliminating specific cookies before, but when I look at the Privacy and Security menu, it seems you can do that.
