I would like to be able to select multiple tabs (by holding down the Shift or Ctrl key) and drag them to a new window. This is a feature of Chrome that I used regularly. Thanks.

Sounds great! I was thinking I did it before and could not figure out how. It must have been with Chrome.

+1—organizing tabs without this seems a pain. Other questions on the same feature:
          https://forums.opera.com/topic/20080/select-multiple-tabs-with-shift
          https://superuser.com/q/998802/46794

I'm checking for related extensions, including other efficient ways to organize tabs. I found these, then had to give up:

          Extract Tabs: https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/details/extract-tabs/?display=en

Extract tabs from the same domain into a new window.

TabZen: https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/details/tabzen/?display=en has lots of features, including:

Organize your tabs in folders [maybe it helps?]

Just providing the option to hold down Ctrl and selecting multiple tabs would go a long way...

                  I just drag 'n' dropped 24 tabs.
                  Not very pleasing really...

OMG. I thought I was going nuts when it didn't work with Shift as I was used to in Chrome. I am trying to switch to Opera since Opera is supposed to be using more resources, but how are you supposed to organize your work without being able to split out tab groups?
I often have more than 50 tabs open and need to re-group the tabs by the projects I am working on or just split some out from another set if the group gets big enough to warrant it.
How is anyone using more than 15 tabs working well without that feature?
I have now installed the Chrome extension Tab Scissors -
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/tab-scissors/cdochbecpfdpjobpgnacnbepkgcfhoek?hl=en - and hope that it will help enough, but really...

Necrothread, I know, but I can't upvote this feature enough. I just discovered I'm unable to do this. I use tabs so much, an inability to drag multiple tabs into a new window is highly problematic for me.

Please, please, please add this feature. I'm ok with using an extension, so if someone knows one, please let me know.

How do I move a selection of tabs to a new window in Opera?

                        (without using extensions)

                        WIN10-64. Opera 57.0.3098.116.

This is my least favourite part of working with Opera. Chrome, Firefox, and even Microsoft Edge for Mac all support this. What's really weird is that you can highlight multiple tabs and then right click to close, duplicate, refresh them. You just can't move them, if you drag and drop, only the highlighted tab is moved.

Was just going to suggest this when I found this thread.

I would love to be able to do this. I just tried it in the
latest Chrome and that works for me.

                            Hope Opera adds this sometime.

This is one thing I too have found lacking...you can select multiple tabs; but cant move them to a new window anything of the sort...
And coming from Chrome it.s a feature I miss dearly!

Ugh. It's already been more than a year since I asked about this. 😭

Please, please, please add this feature. Saving a group to speed dial isn't at all the same thing.

It's weird this elementary function doesn't work.
I select multiple tabs then right click and "save tabs as dial folder" then "open in new window".

But it is not for everyday using as I am accustomed.

Plus one for this from me.

What I find odd is that you can ctrl/shift + select multiple tabs, the UI does support this, yet you can't do anything with them!

                                            Please add!
