How to remove Whatsup & Facebook messenger

Note: I want to remove them, not just hide.
Browser makers tend to boast about increasing security and privacy, and yet they add in (force upon us) the biggest privacy violators of them all.
So, how to remove ?

You could simply right-click the sidebar and untick them. I did the same.
I am a little disappointed not to find Line (particularly popular in Asia) and WeChat (second most users in the world). They have only added the Western ones which are not very well known or even blocked, and Telegram is a mystery.

I would like the ability to reorder the messengers. As for Telegram, it's a justified choice to include that because 1) it's privacy centric, and 2) when WhatsApp goes down people flock to Telegram more than anywhere else.

This thread should be made into a suggestion, although I personally have no problem with simply unticking or ‘hiding’ them since you will not be able to click on them by accident anyway.
@luca786toni ‘Privacy’, you said? I have tried to register an account, but it forces me to enter a telephone number. When I do enter my number, it will not even accept it. I will support your suggestion if you post it to the Suggestion forum though.

Since this update I have not been receiving push notifications on my mobile device, so I believe the two could be linked.

Just go to Speed Dial Settings & untick both (look for Sidebar Settings)--that's how I did it --took me a while to figure it out, but now it's gone !

Why does it matter if it's a windows device, what I am suggesting is that opera is intercepting the notifications so that I don't see them on my mobile device.

This is totally unrelated to what is being discussed on this topic.
Also the OP seems to no longer have interest on the subject, closing the topic.
