SO:
Arch Linux
Browser version:Opera developer v45.0.2539.0 Desktop environment:
GNOME Shell 3.22.3 on X`I have enabled WhatsApp on new sidebar. When I click on its icon, Opera opens the WhatsApp panel but when I click again it doesn't hide it. Keyboard shortcut (CTRL+SHIFT+M) doesn't work either.

Noticed the same issue with latest update to Opera v55.0.2994.37 on Linux Mint 19 Cinnamon (all updates installed). Was working fine in all previous Opera versions - ie. could click outside Whatsapp or on the Whatsapp icon to close the sidebar.
However, contrary to the OP, I find that I can still close it by pressing Ctrl+Shift+M.
