Are they gone or disabled? Do you see anything in the extensions page?

Are you logged into windows with normal or temporay profile - or even as different user?
Profile path must be visible in Opera menu - About. You may check other users Appdata either.

Same account as always. No other users on this PC. My bookmarks are all still here. My setting I noticed are gone too. (VPN was disabled, flash was back on by default.)

And what happened before that? Any crashes? Opera or Windows update?

Do you see the extensions in Opera's profile folder?

Either your profile folder got corrupted or there is a new one.

Nope. I closed Opera normally when I went to play Overwatch, and then opened it afterwards and they were gone.

What is the path for this?

How do I check this? This is kind of what I was thinking so I want to know where my possible settings may be stored and if anything can be restored.

Check Menu > About Opera. BTW, this info is in the FAQ.

                        How do I check this?

See if the extensions folder has some folders (usually with a strange name) in it.

Then your extensions are probably still there. I guess that maybe your Preferences file got corrupted.

Go to extensions manager, click on 'developer mode' and then on 'load unpacked extension'.

Find one of the extensions folder, select the folder with the version number and click ok.

The extension should be loaded into Opera but as a new installation must probably.

so i guess its probably lost for good? if so i may just back up this folder and then reinstall stuff and see if i can dig through for settings if i can figure out which is which.

i am so stressed out though because i have so many stylish styles i made and stupidly didn't save to userstyles (mostly because i stole some of the codes from other styles and theres no post privately option there...) & other extentions with similar stories that have data saved in them that took a lot of time and effort to set up...

thank you for your help though

I know it won't help now but i would advise you to do backups of Opera's profile folder on a regular basis, specially if you use extensions.

I honestly just gave up, I will make backups though...... but now I am annoyed again.

Did opera get rid of the speed dial news page? It is gone after Opera deleted my settings, so maybe it did update without my permission idk. All I see there is some dumb "person news" page I can click on the left now... but can I get this back on speed dial?

The reason it's so much better on speed dial is... I don't think to look at news, but I open tabs constantly, so just seeing it there would make me.... read it.

Also opera has been freaking out lately and not working right. I think it was the September update? but ever since then its just been weird....

Kinda unrelated but yes, news on start page have been removed.

September? We are almost on december. 🙂

Anyway, it's a discussion for a separated topic.

Actually it is related and the same discussion because Opera deleted my settings, which is also when the speed dial page changed. I had it up until that point.

I posted about my issues in September on the update, and the reply I got was unhelpful. ... lol I found it and IT WAS YOU.

                                      http://i.imgur.com/4seXchk.png

But it wasn't helpful lol. I also assume this is related, because opera deleted my extensions after I was already having issues with the browser, but ever since September it has been deleting my settings. (Why do I have to enable flash EVERY day. I don't want to click to play?????)

Anyway....... I noticed in fact, that now my bookmarks are gone. I am pretty annoyed... like... I don't know. I don't like being rude and abrasive but I am so annoyed. I searched back in September when all this bullshit started to happen for ways to backup my bookmarks with no luck because I wanted to just reinstall my profiles. Clean start. See if that helps. But nope!! Not possible to backup your settings on Opera for some reasons jfc omg I am annoyed.

This also happened last night and then it crashed:

                                      http://i.imgur.com/uMFppp8.png

Another issue I have been having is tabs won't load. Blank white page. I need to clone them in order to see the contents. Like all this has been going on for a while. Loosing my extensions just set me off, and now my bookmarks....

Since opera deleted all my extensions I am just going to attempt to use Firefox AGAIN I guess. I tried to wait it out after the September update hoping an update would fix it.... but it is just getting worse??? Neither browser works well for me, but I stuck through it because I honestly LOVE Oprea, or did... for the past 8 years. I used Opera because it worked... but.... I mean if neither browser is going to work right I guess I would prefer one that at least lets you export your settings and bookmarks and all that jazz??? Why put users in this position when the browser starts to fuck up? It makes it so users can't even effectively trouble shoot because they will LOSE EVERYTHING. Tho I guess Opera took care of that for me by going ahead and deleting everything... but its too late my trust feels broken.

Hopefully opera can get it's shit together.... This makes me sad.
