question for those who are complaining about the new Opera

Here's a better question.
How long did it take to drop all of those features?Actually, your question is not particularly a good one but the OP's is legitimate. It took years to develop the final version of Presto and the new browser is only months old. In other words... give it time. Features are being returned so have more patience.
That is what I mean, we have to give time to the developers, the new opera is getting better and better.

Exactly. But then the whiners... the power-users... the self-proclaimed old guard wouldn't have anything to complain about. They want their free browser NOW and they want to dictate exactly how it should be.

we wouldn't have a bookmarks bar if no body complained about bookmarks.

But they do not need to say that the new browser sucks because it does not have what they want, do they?

A lot of the threads here are not constructive, though. All those people say is: "Uuuh! new Opera sucks ass! We want old Opera! New Opera is stupid and the developers are stupid too!!!1"
It's like they don't realise that the developers are working on bringing all those features back. It just takes time. -

It's like they don't realise that the developers are working on bringing 'some of' those features back. It just takes time.Corrected.

Leushino, you are a tool of the highest caliber (and that is not a compliment). I - and many others - would gladly have paid to keep Presto going. Your baseless strawman accusations are becoming overbearing and tiresome. Give it a rest some time.

I second to that jito.
From what I'm reading here and on http://blogs.opera.com/desktop/ seems like Opera is a lost cause.
Maybe we should stop wasting our time with these guys if all they want to hear is themselves. Seems like they really love their new 1.23% market share while advising their shrinking user-base to be patient (and dumb) or get lost. Way to go!

Devs on the opera blogs dont listen to the people who use Opera the most which is thier dedicated "Former" user base. Opera has been my main browser since about 2002, the browser I used 100% of the time, I've even paid for thier versions of opera because they deserved the money for making such a great browser. As of today I have no need for ANY Opera, I dont like the new version and I'm not really a big fan of Chrome either, the new Opera isnt even compatable with Chrome extensions like the other incarnations of Chrome are which would at least make the new Opera a little more tolerable. I have Uninstalled the new Opera as well as the old one which is Opera 12.16 or whatever, I dont need the new browser or the old outdated one, I'm finished with opera, My main browser now is comodo Ice Dragon, which is highly configureable and use the Auto-Sort Bookmarks extension that sorts the bookmarks as well as Opera 12.16 did. For Chrome incarnations I use Comodo Dragon and SRWare Iron is another one I've been using for a few years now, I really do Highly recommend Comodo Ice Dragon as the perfect replacement for any Opera you use as it's built in security makes it safer than any Chrome, Firefox or Internet Explorer you use and is highly user configurable, it's also a browser I think im in love with now. I have no expectations that Opera will make a version that will draw me back, If I need a limited featureless browser I have a tablet I can surf the net on, but I dont need it on my desktop. I wont even use Opera on my tablet, I use UC Browser HD on it. I hope that helped anyone struggling to make a decision to move on, because I did and I have no regrets

There is an Opera extension you can download which then makes Opera compatible with Chrome extensions. So far, it has worked fine for me. I can go to the Chrome store with my Opera 20 and download Chrome extensions. I'm not sure i follow your complaint there.

Colderwinters, let me ask you one thing: the first version of the old opera was perfect without bugs amd with all the features (features that was added till final version 12)?

Sydneyneto, If you've followed the blog forums, the devs say they have no plans to add the things thier users have asked for, no plans at all for proper bookmarks because they say 98% of the users dont need them, which is why theres also no export bookmarks function, I have just about all my downloads from 2002 or earlier burned to disks, I can install Opera 3.0 and it will have more features than this new browser does, even when i was using 3.0 I had no gripes about it. Sydneyneto, I dont know why you are such a big fan of this new Opera, when it's usability is far less than any other browser out there, tell me what you love about this browser so much, I want to hear your talking points on what makes this new browser so great. Maybe I'm missing something but I dont think so.

The Chrome extension is garbage, extensions I installed barely worked if they worked at all and none of the themes worked, most of the extensions were incompatable with opera

Well, my story is: I had used Chorme for more than one year after I decided to leave old opera. I was using version 31 (I had know about the new opera) when everything starts. I updated Chrome to vetsion 32, and pepper flash started to lag as hell, I tried the chrome support and they are horrible (it does not help), I did and do not like firefox and internet explorer. So I tried the new opera, It was a great experience. I prefer stash over bookmarks, the new speed dial is awesome, I can browser the web without any problem (almost). I have nothing to conplain.

It's cool Sydneyneto, we all have our preferences and needs concerning browsers and other software for that matter, I would never bash Opera, I just have no use for the direction it's taking and actually I'm kinda happy about it because I found a browser I think I like alot better and looks alot better too, and I cant say I'll never come back to Opera in the future but I cant predict that either. You brought up a good topic Sydneyneto and good posts too. Right On, take care

Resorting to name-calling is simply an indication of your own immaturity. The only real tiresome thing in the forums is the fact that whiners and complainers still "don't get it". Your whining has achieved nothing and in fact may have delayed what was already on the drawing board. And by the way: don't flatter yourself thinking I'm upset somehow by your comments. They mean nothing to me.

Name calling? Pot, meet kettle. How many times have you called us all "whiners"? How is that not "name calling"?
What's tiresome is your constant need to deride others who aren't happy with the new direction of Opera. And if you don't care, then you shouldn't even bother responding (somehow, I think you really do care, though).
And how, pray tell, did our complaints do anything to delay new features? That's really a stretch, even for you.

not everyone did. most simply change browsers without saying anything. others were dumbfounded by the omission of what they considered a standard browser feature and said so. and some went ballistic. to infer all went ballistic is simply not the case, most discord was civil. the people spoke and an appeasement was offered.
