Opera beta AUTO SCROLLING ISSUE

Version 37.4 opera beta issue still persists after 7 months, video: https://youtu.be/tIKgNcYBESI
Thats a weird bug and we have been looking to reproduce, but never managed that.
Which makes it really hard to resolve, since we cannot troubleshoot an issue we never see.It might be system specific or site specific or something else. Can you provide some reliable reproduction steps including what device and android version you are using?
Thanks for the report.

my observation: it happens when one finger is detected on little part of screen (for example while holding and you are accidentally touch screen) and another finger is used for browsing

So wouldn't this happen in Chrome or another browser as well or is this only happening in Opera?

Thanks for the report.I use just opera. Don't see point to have more browsers installed. Amd maybe it's not the way how it happens... I just assume (according situations when it appeared).

runaway behaviour happens with opera mini as well. since moving up from mini 7 under android 4 4.2, i've seen it occasionally. maybe android's buffer for multipoint touch input causing it.

I get this issue too, it happens when i accidentally keep one finger on the screen and its acts like im selecting text, but the page will slowly scroll down, sometimes to the sides aswell, and the only way to close tab is to press back, the other option is gone when you hold the back button to exit
Its been going on for since the start of the year i believe, but i havent had this issue since i upgraded to 7.1

I have this problem with Opera, as well as Chrome. In fact, I get the weird runaway scrolling on the Opera Start Page. I have an Asus t100ta running win10. Windows and Opera are up to date. I have the touch screen disabled and only use the track pad.
On some pages, (as mentioned, including the Start Page), there is a huge lag when 2 finger scrolling. On this forum page, (using Opera), scrolling is smooth and linear. If I switch tabs to the Start Page, 2 finger scrolling is extremely laggy and unresponsive, and when the page does scroll, it's jerky and runaway.
If I scroll with the scroll bar on the right side of the page, there is less lag, (though still some), but it is still very jerky.
It's a very annoying problem...one of a few that it shares with Chrome.
I'll add more pages to the list as I come across them.

Here's another site that has laggy and unpredictable scrolling on Opera.

That site is fine for me,
It depends on your phones hardware. This thread is about auto scrolling to bottom, top left or right only solution is to close the tab.
I haven't experienced this with any other browser, Still occurs with android 7.1, but it was fixed with a custom rom. -

airliners_dot_net loads fine here. a buddy reported ongoing problems with his rounded screen phone, when held in one hand between ring finger and pinkie, or trying to one-hand thumbing (same here).
as i said before, probably due to android's multi-touch buffer overflow.wtf, just sit it out and enjoy the show.

This bug has been around for several incarnations in Opera beta although I find it occurring less frequently in the last two incarnations. When it occurs for me it's easy to stop by going to settings/apps/Opera Beta and closing the program. Then when you restart Opera beta it opens to the same page and it behaves normally not sure what's going on under the hood but it is apparently an opera problem as I said it's happening very infrequently now so perhaps they have it just about worked out.
