opera 35 cannot load pages..

  • Well i just installed Opera 35. When i click to start up notice all the pages cannot stop loading... nothing comes out.

    why?

  • Anyone?

  • What OS?

Any firewall, antivirus or related software installed?

  • I am still on Vista.

I am fine using the old version of Opera. What would have cause this?

  • 'Old version' being what version exactly?

  • The one with old format. I forgotten which version. Now i am using a different computer.
    Anyway to solve it? Thanks

  • Do we still support Vista?

  • ^^^this is what i am trying to ask also..

  • Do we still support Vista?

Since Chromium is dropping support for Vista, i guess Opera may do the same at some point.

  • Anyway to solve it? Thanks

    Start with disabling antivirus temporarily.
If this doesn't help, disable all extensions.
If this doesn't help, then did you upgrade some older version or installed new one? If upgrade, then write down, where your Opera profile resides (you can see that folder on About page), close Opera, rename profile folder to something else, start Opera - will it open any pages now? If yes, then something in your old profile is fishy.

What about Vista, then two weeks ago I used Opera on XP without problems - and I have not heard about massive Opera problems on XP or Vista lately. Like Chrome stated, they just don't give updates to unsupported systems; existing code will work.

I was using the older version and the new version upgrade pop up so i click to install the newest version....

  • How do you disable all extensions?

  • Menu - Extensions - Extensions manager

What version was the older one? 12? 34?

  • I am on 35. I just tried. I can't even click on extensions, the screen just keep loading and nothing came out...

  • I can't even view the version number, that's how much it doesn't work.
I'm on Windows 10 and Opera stopped working a few weeks ago for no apparent reason. Deleted old version, reinstalled latest one from opera website. No luck. Nothing loads not even the opening page or any of the menu command windows.
    Need help please.

  • If you close Opera, rename your Opera profile folder (for example on W10 this is located somewhere in C:\Users\your_name_here\AppData\Roaming\Opera Software, profile folder is named Opera or Opera Developer or whatever update stream you are using) and restart Opera - does it come live? This is cleanest startup possible.

    Hi,

So how do you do this where is the folder? More explanation on the steps please.

  • You find the folder in the About Opera page. Since you can't view it he gave you an example of where it might be. You go to that location and rename the profile folder you find there. When you next start Opera it will look for the profile, not find it because its name has changed, and create a fresh one. If that fixes the problem you will know that its a problem with your old profile. If it doesn't, well, we've eliminated a possibility.
