Yahoo overthrowing Google?

I went to search something on Opera today when it redirected me to Yahoo even though it says it is searching on google. It was working fine last night, now all of the sudden I can't get it to fix itself. I have the default engine set to google, and if I set it to Amazon or something it works fine.
Only thing I recently installed was Need for Speed Hot Pursuit on steam, and all other browsers are working fine. I tried unintalling and reinstalling opera, updating, all sorts of stuff and NOTHING is fixing it.
Please help!!

Check the Desktop shortcuts for your browser launching: it shouldn't contain anything after the
.exe
part. Delete if it does, and report here. Yes, and run a full scan of your system, too. What's your AV?
(Try not to use that site for the time being.) Well, and check that download's source URL (from the downloads page/list) - what is it?(Psst: always cite your browser version posting about a problem here.)

Sorry, I knew I forgot to post something in the original post. I was going to put it in but I forgot. (Also not too sure what you are asking for when you say 'AV')
Opera Stable 34.0.2036.25
I don't use shortcuts aside using Oblytile for Windows 8.1, but I already remade a new tile for that and just to be safe tried to boot it from the program folder, nothing changed.

I mean
.ink
files, used usually on Desktop. You tap it to start something from there.AntiVirus software.

I'm using Avast because AVG is refusing to install properly. Did a scan last night though and didn't find anything. No .ink files anywhere to be seen either.

What exactly happens? You do a search in Opera's address bar and it goes to Yahoo? Or you are searching in Google's page and the results are shown in a Yahoo page?
Which is your default search engine?

Check your machine with Malwarebytes Antimalware (do not install pro trial, free version is enough) and ADWCleaner - the latest is especially good to find and remove browser hijacks.

It might be
.lnk
, but anyway - it's special poops that are usually placed on your Desktop which are not the launch files themselves but LINK to them wherever they are. In their properties there are paths to the very file it links to and the folder the latter's contained in. -

have you installed or updated any apps or add-ons?
one of these could have changed your default search engine settings. -

@leocg On the speed dial page where theres a bar that says "Google" or even in the adress bar, when I go to search it redirects to yahoo, and the default search engine is set to Google.
@donq Did a scan with Malwarebytes already, nothing came up, will try ADW though just in case, thank you for the tip!
@joshl I literally have nothing on my desktop but 2 folders that lead to my music and pictures and stuff.
@cy414 I only have Adblocker and Adguard and neither of those have cause any issue or have updated around the time this occurred.

Problem fixed!!
@donq thank you so much for recommending me to ADWCleaner, sweeped it right up!
And thank you everyone else for all your help, most especially @joshl for going through it step by step with me!
