Revealing Passwords

I am VERY surprised to see that anybody can see my passwords simply by going to Setting, Manage Passwords, and click on Show
By default Opera asks for your OS password before reveal anything.
Anyway, someone would have to:
- Gain physical access to your computer;
- Know your OS username and password to access you account (or be very lucky to get your computer while you are logged in);
- Know Opera and how to show stored passwords
Surely there should be one central password to activate any of the stored password? Isn't this common sense, yet nobody seems to implement this!
That password is your OS password.
Btw, it's the same in Chrome.

thanks all, but actually knew about that, I actually never had a OS password deeming it not so necessary, and actually still think so! But I did make a password to try out this feature, and lo and behold, it still does not ask me for any password before revealing passwords! Now what?

Forgot to mention, that yes, I did obviously reboot when trying this out. I'll try again soon maybe

Well, if you really care about privacy and security, then you should have one.
It would also help preventing data loss if someone using your computer do something wrong.

I have a password set up on my OS (Windows XP SP3), although the OS is set to log on automatically.
I'm not asked for it when I look at my saved passwords on Opera Developer, it just shows them!

Like I said, it does not ask for password before revealing passwords. Is this a bug on the xp version?
Plus, what I meant to say before was, that ideally, whenever Opera enters a password for you automatically, it should ask for a quick password first. My idea is that you have to press a certain key within 5 secs, and you only get few tries! -

Check specifically
chrome://flags/?search=passw#password-manager-reauthenticationChecked that out, and the setting is on its default.
Disable prompting is disabled, which should mean that it does prompt (how I hate double negatives in things like that, couldn't be more confusing!)
I did try the "enabled" setting, no change to the behaviour.

Same for me. Do you have to enter your OS password to gain acceas to your desktop?
Yep.

No, because I have specially set a OS password, restarted, but still Opera does not ask for it before revealing!?
