Oh well, again it was worth a try!
      😞
Have you any other sites where you can see the problem that aren't membership sites?
It would be good to be able to check and compare the exact page that you're seeing. Even if you're just logged in on the homepage it makes it look different, so your screenshot doesn't exactly match what people not logged in are seeing.
      🙂

I might Have found something here, needs more testing.

What are the important files to keep from profile folder that contain my stuff ??

I back up: bookmarks.adr, cookies4.dat, operaprefs, search, speeddial and wand.dat, what else should I back up to save my info and stuff ?

A full backup would include operaprefs.ini, but it can only be used in the same installation. Likewise if you are backing up cookies and wand then you need the user certs file (I'll have to check the name).

You might want to backup your global and typed history too.
            global[underscore]history.dat
            typed[underscore]history.xml
If in doubt, back up your entire profile folder!
            🙂
EDIT: I do wish this wretched forum wouldn't mess up what you've typed with its stupid markdown system!
            Whatever happened to WYSIWYG?!

I'm glad the "old" Opera is back.

I have installed O 12.18 on win 10 64 bit and I have the exact same problem that I had with 12.17 - all websites load extremely slow. For example to access www.huffingtonpost.com it takes several seconds until all documents are loaded and then it takes another 20 or more seconds until all the elements are loaded, one by one, sometimes way over 150 elements before anything happens on the screen. O 35, FF and Edge all load immediately.

Does anyone have any advice what I could do?

I tried the huffpost and loads lazily as you described and have no idea what to do. I also have trouble with ebay and some others. Still I am happy to have the update since it is no longer shutting down unexpectedly.. I just stay way from those heavy websites.

Maybe opera will feel sorry for us and release another update.

Edit: Still can't use Chase bank. Keeps saying don't recognize machine while works fine in any other browser.

Yes, but honestly, why should I have to?!
What you type should be what you get. It is on every single other forum I use except this one.

Strange, http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/ loads extremely quickly for me on 12.18.
That's where the www.huffingtonpost.com URL redirects for me.
Maybe the US site is much more javascript heavy or something, that always slows down Presto Opera, Facebook and YouTube being prime examples where loading is very slow and scrolling absolutely painful!
                      😞

Mh, even if it is great that the old Presto (and only Opera I still use - and because of M2 being my main email client) is still updated.. speaking as one of the former myopera forums D&D participants :insane: :braindead: and one who likes conspiracy theories from an intellectual PoV but doesn't take 'em serious -> Anyone considered that this Presto update just came after Opera was sold to some "asian" company (considered that I got the headlines right and the deal was made)??? So a Presto Update after that? Anyone hearing the voices in his back of his mind whispering "Trojan.... Censorship... Big Brother.... NSA... (Oops, wrong Country).... Backdoor...." ???

No Really, I am glad that Presto is still updated - but the timing is a bit... well, it is an open invitation to said "conspiracy theories"....

P.S.: And no *NIX Update... well, I hear in my mind "Prime Targets.... Easy Stuff...".... Oops, would we be targeting the wrong community and be revealed too soon with *NixPeople? Sorry - I really couldn't resist to add that one ;p  (And that the old MAC User Stereotype would be in opposition to the typical *nix one ... well as said, those theories are just plain fun)

The Opera sale was announced on or around 10 February, and consists of a cash tender offer for Opera ASA. Management and owners of about 1/3 of the shares have agreed to the offer and are recommending the sale to other shareholders. 5 days earlier, stock trading had been halted over media buyout speculation. Back in August 2015, Opera had begun reviewing its options (including sale) after receiving strategic interest from a number of parties. This from BloombergBusiness: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-02-10/opera-software-gets-agreed-takeover-offer-valued-at-1-2-billion

Bottom line: A publicly-held company like Opera isn't 'sold' until it's actually sold - by owners of a majority of its stock shares. Exploring a sale is far, far removed from consummating a sale and turning over product developmental influence or control to a new owner. Consequently, whatever Opera has done with respect to creating Opera 12.18 was underway and has been finished well prior to any point of a legal sale completion, by developers under the employ of Opera ASA existing as an independent entity. Conspiracy theories regarding Opera 12.18, even presented semi-humorously, have no place at this point in time when even elemental common sense is applied. In some venues, it might even be construed with attempting to influence shareholder opinions and stock prices.

... and of course, those of us who are testers had the exact same 32-bit build before the sale was announced, so it isn't directly related.

Can someone confirm if http://www.softpedia.com/ has issues with fonts on Opera 12.18 & Windows 10 ??

                              Thanks.

The icons look like dots in 12.18 here - not even typical squares.

So, they're messed up and not showing properly, right ??

If so, it's something wrong with Opera itself, something with the coding if I may say "poor".

I'll report back what I've found so far.

The icons are messed up here in Firefox, Qupzilla, and Opera 12.18. In Firefox, they appear as small rectangles with "FO" above "05" inside the top ones (where the stars should be) and "F1/C0" and "F0/44" in the ones half way down the page; in Opera 12.18, they appear mainly as small rectangles, some of which have "x" symbols in them. The only browsers they seem to render correctly with are chromium/Blink-based ones.

Regarding icons on http://www.softpedia.com/ , they are properly displayed in all the browsers I tested (Firefox, Opera 35, Chrome, Pale moon) but not Opera 12 even I fixed the issue I was having with other sites, which means the problem is with Opera 12 itself.

                                      .

                                      Now back with my issue.

I was having windows firewall disabled using "Windows 10 Toggle Tweaker", and changed the start up mode to "Disabled" in services.

What I did was changing the start up mode to manual but this only didn't work, I had to start the service manually after right clicking the windows firewall service.

                                      .

So, enabling Windows firewall fix that, can you believe it , but I'll disable it again cause I don't like it.

It is because of MicroShit, this happen to me before, I couldn't use Windows updates (always ended with errors and nothing updated) because firewall was disabled. Also some programs that rely on "Inno VCL Styles" wasn't working and given errors like this one http://www.softpedia.com/get/Programming/Patchers/Inno-Setup-XDELTA-Patch-Maker.shtml , and I've contacted the author and he fixed that.

This is just bullshit of M$hit to force you use their firewall or maybe bad coding, and I guess I can say Opera 12 is not fully compatible with Windows 10 which could be expected (it's 2 years old now or so), other browsers have no problem with firewall disabled.

Hopefully someone can find a fix for this or a workaround of some sort.

Thank you all for your help and special thanks to @davehawley, @sgunhouse and @stng who bear with me.

Has anyone else noticed that Facebook is now mis-rendering in 12.18?
The search field has dropped a line here and is now sitting on top of the first part of the main display, and everything in the bar where it should be is shifted to the left.
Only noticed it today, it was always OK in 12.17.
Changing the site preferences seems to make no difference.
                                        😕

Yeah, the search field is misplaced recently, but it also was like that in 12.17. Probably can be fixed by a custom CSS, but I haven't figured how.

Conspiracy theorists: They might be able to do all kinds of tracking not only through the Windows binaries, but also through the online/call-home functionality like Dragonfly and whatever home servers Opera communicates with. 🙂
