Chrome extensions for Opera - can they work?

Hi everyone,
I'm determined to enable Momentum extension for my Opera since I don't want to switch to Chrome... So I installed this addon https://addons.opera.com/pl/extensions/details/download-chrome-extension-9/?display=en and obviously Momentum from Chrome Web Store and I'm still stuck on my old Speed Dial page... Any ideas if this is possible to make it work?
Thanks in advance! -

yes, it works perfectly, when it is enabled, you can DL other extensions earmarked for Chrome, often they get installed, but you still have to go to your "Manage Extensions" area, and enable them

I believe this is not the case, though. I've obviously enabled it as soon as I downloaded it at opera://extensions and it still doesn't work, just my normal Speed Dial tab. I've even restarted the browser and the computer. Thanks anyway!

On occasion, I have had a couple that "installed" (supposedly) but in the end did not work. By and large the extension that allows Chrome extension to work in New Opera works pretty good. But it is incumbent on us to remember O29 is NOT Chrome, though it has much of the inner workings of it.

Most Chrome extensions work in Opera 29. To download a Chrome extension easily, you need the Opera extension, called Download Chrome Extension, https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/details/download-chrome-extension-9/?display=en
or Extension Source Viewer, https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/details/extension-source-viewer/
I'm not sure why Momentum isn't working for you. Some people have posted, I believe I recollect getting their Chrome speed dial to work.
You know, you can create another new tab page other than the Opera Speed Dial via extension. Perhaps, there's an Opera extension for new tabs that might link to Momentum. Something like, Custom New Tab page, https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/details/custom-new-tab-page/?display=en (though that extension seems to require a web address).
Getting Opera to work without the speed dial, is easy enough via extension. Generally, though, one needs an address to a bookmark, to have the home page or new tab page open there. You can have the new tab page open to a web address, or to an internal page in your computer.

Had the same problem today. So I fixed it.
If someone is interested in how I did it, here we go:
Fist I installed "Install Chrome extensions" https://addons.opera.com/de/extensions/details/download-chrome-extension-9/?display=en
Then I installed "Momentum" https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/momentum/laookkfknpbbblfpciffpaejjkokdgca/related
Then I installed "Momentum" on Chrome and started it.
I analyzed, what sourcefile will be loaded, for me it was chrome-extension://laookkfknpbbblfpciffpaejjkokdgca/dashboard.html
So I switched back to Opera and installed "Custom new tab page" https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/details/custom-new-tab-page/?display=en
And set the link to the dashboard.html.That´s it.
Hope I could help you even if the problem is already some months old.

I think they just meant page source of the page the extension loads, like this:
https://i.imgur.com/HIDoZD8.pngchrome-extension://laookkfknpbbblfpciffpaejjkokdgca/dashboard.html
is the url to load in the new tab extensionThanks everyone.. I was a little stuck on how to enable this the other day.. this is a nice fix!
