Stash is being replaced by bookmarks. And sync is being worked on.

Btw, please read rule #6 and dp not write all caps.

So Opera is finally realising its mistake and going back to old features? I'll wait then to replace it and see if it returns to what it was.

Or maybe they just realized that people nowadays seems to be not ready yet for some changes and that taking a step back may be better than keep "fighting".

As far as it goes ... they didn't explain it, but I think "Share" is replacing sync. There was a request some time ago for "partial sync", the user said he had some bookmarks on his home system that he didn't want on his work system (my guess being "NSFW" stuff) so he wanted to be able to tell Opera what to sync. Share - since it seems to be only one user, not "share" a la FB/G+/... - would seem to be this "partial sync". Which would explain where sync went.

Stash should still be kept. It did its job and it did it well ( well, except for this: https://forums.opera.com/topic/4810/search-issues-in-stash/1 ). The 2 features compliment eachother.

Other browsers have addons for such a thing, to temp-save a link for reading later. Without it being lost in your bookmarks (even if you make an ugly "temp" folder). That's why people loved the old Opera. Tons of handy features built-in, no need a third-party addon.

There are several topics stating they want Stash back. And perhaps if they keep it, people might adapt to it and "move on". Something along the lines of what leocg said.

So why remove a feature when they have different purposes? Keep the innovative new feature and let people get used to it.

Or maybe taking a step back is Opera realising unwanted change can't be forced. 😉 That's the MS m.o.. Luckily with Windows any part of the system can be changed and MS has reverted back from some of their forced changes. Opera on the other hand can't. I'm not going to argue with you again over which features YOU think should be in Opera. There is no reason stash can't be a add-on like it is with other browsers for the few that actually want it. Proper bookmarks like every basic browser has however can't.

I liked what we had in the previous version (Heart -> Bookmark/Speed Dial/Stash. That way you could just have added the "Share" feature to that list. I mean, why do I have to bookmark a page first to share it? As a User I think it would come handy to be able to share a non "bookmarked" URL.

                        Man..
I will deliver a speech about Opera tomorrow, featuring Stash as one of Opera's key feature. But now this feature is gone, what I'm supposed to do? :|
