Is there any way to delete this stupid bar up top? Annoying that it shows up whenever attempting to search for something by clicking at the top on google search, and then this thing pushes the search bar down further on the screen. Extremely dumb update and i dont know how to remove it

@Popcorn537 Totally agree, already downloaded alternatives eg firefox. Prefer Opera but this little addition is a showstopper for me. A total waste of space and how often do change you search engine. If this cannot be switched off its game over.

@Popcorn537 It seems that your are missing the "Ask AI" option on that bar.

@Popcorn537 Can't stand the stupid search "feature" that nobody wants, just like Microsoft Windows. Now there are 2 or 3 search fields at the top of some pages. We don't want to change search engines every time. Opera must offer a way to disable it or Firefox is my next default.

More than that I think having the bar be a search bar by default is asinine.

I Want To Type In An Address
                  I don't want a search engine.

The bar shld start with https://
why is the new tab a search page????

Is there no way to disable that

@Acebufs You don't have a search bar by default, you still have the same address/search bar bar that you have been using in the last decade, at least.
The difference is that now you can see what is the default search engine and you can also ask Opera AI.

@leocg you have an extra bar you cannot remove. You can take the ai off it but it still leaves the search engine choice. Why can this extra bar nit be optional. I don't want to have it in my face as don't often change it.
