Change Opera.exe default icon?

Is there a way to change the boring red "O" to something like the cooler blue multicolored "O" that is seen with an Opera update (both Icon and the logo when the browser is opened?

@teligence You can’t officially change Opera’s default red “O” logo to the blue multicolored one unless Opera releases that theme as part of an update. That blue logo you saw is usually for beta or special promotional builds. The only way to change it yourself is by manually replacing the app icon in your OS and editing the splash screen files, but that requires modifying Opera’s program files, which can be reset after updates.

I was able to find a way to change it for all desktop icons by searching the web. The only icon that it didn't change is the red "O" at the top left of the Opera browser window, so, still hoping that Opera developers add an option to select a desired icon that fits a user's preference. -

@teligence Changing icons on desktop shortcuts is fairly trivial in Windows, Changing icons inside the app may be possible with a resource editor, as long as they don't do some sort of checksum to verify the file is unmodified and also presuming they didn't compress the file. Though not knowing if Opera Software approves, I won't discuss [t further.

Trivial? Agreed.
Preferable? Of course!
Resource editor? What's that? ()
