How to stop the constant "news" in my notifications bar?

Since the last version I am receiving "news" in my phone in the notification bar and panel.
I don't want to receive random news in my phone!!!
I don't even want any news in my Opera app.
Whose idea was this, you're making me hate your browser that I use for years as a big fan.
How to stop this aggression, please??

@qwak1 You have two options. You can turn it off in Opera settings, or turn it off in Android settings. Yes, if you want to block all possible notifications from some particular app in Android you can do that. But if there are some websites you want to receive notifications from you'd be blocking them too. So you can also go through Opera's settings and turn off only the notifications you don't want.

@sgunhouse I can't. I already did it in the settings and keep receiving them. And I can't block them in Android because then the VPN doesn't work and I'm paying for the pro version.

@sgunhouse Yes, the regular browser, not the news app. I disabled the 4 notifications options and keep receiving the news flash in both the bar and panel. As I mentioned before, I can't block all the notifications because then the VPN pro doesn't work so I must leave that one on.
Random news all the time such as "Trump has said this" or "Protests in Ireland"...
I mean, all the time, a few per day.
But I'm also having another weird problem that doesn't stop. I tried to open another thread and I wasn't allowed by the system.
Like two mistakes that never end and don't respond to my actions.
