We’ve been busy cooking up some serious heat in the Opera Developer test kitchen and are ready to drop a huge payload of new AI features for Aria in Opera GX, as part of our AI Feature Drops program. We’re rolling out a supercharged new version of Writing Mode which has harnessed feedback from our […]

Please stop shoving AI down our throats.
The Aria Logo now appears in all text bars. I disabled Aria on day one and I would like to keep it out of my life.
I have disabled it in Sidebar options but it is still appearing. How do I get rid of it?

@rafferty3231: Open Aria in the sidebar, go to settings, disable the writing mode shortcut, and Aria won't appear in text boxes any more.

@natcuber: It was bugged unthil the last hotfix. Even if you had it turned off, it still showed in textboxes.
Seems to be fixed in this patch.
On a complete side note, I also subscribe to Rafferty's stance. Why does everything have some sort of AI feature nowadays. This isn't what "gamers" want, nor need. It's bloat, and a free ride to learn about our personal data, tastes, searches, and more. I know developers rarely have a word (except the ones getting a pay bonus for suggesting this to be a feature?) in this but please let the higher ups know we users are getting tired of this.

I use Aria everyday ... more than any other AI. I'm not saying that Aria has always provided the best possible answers, but I trust Opera more than Google or Microsoft.
I'm glad that you are improving Aria, and am looking forward to Aria's expanded capabilities, perhaps I won't need to get a second AI opinion as often in the future.
Danke !!!

Aira is SO over protective. Any tiny thing and it "cannot answer this question"

@wrekogniize: It's powered by ChatGPT and Gemini. AI in general is very overprotective.

@Wrekogniize @wrekogniize: Agreed she's the worst. Even when walking on a mountain of eggshells with triple white gloves, she takes offence, it's ridiculous and alienating

"If you’re using the keyboard layout from the US, UK, Poland, India and Ukraine, use Ctrl+/" - this is incredibly inconvenient! Give me the ability to customize the key combination. On my keyboard layout, the / sign is located near the right shift key.

When you live where Aria is not available
It is interesting, and what is the humor to show such news to those regions where related innovations are not available?
Is it trolling, banter or what?Due to the fact that restrictions that are not related to citizens affect them - using such services becomes many times more unpleasant.
And here we are?
Limit those because of whom you are forced to impose such "sanctions", and do not touch us, ordinary citizens.
