Opera has changed....and not for the better.....

All I can say is that it is the truth - the version number goes up, but none of the features that made Opera better than the rest are coming back. For Christ's sake - you guys don't even have an RSS reader anymore! Click on an Atom or RSS feed and all you get is the raw XML and no option to open it in an actual reader.
This is getting pathetic. It's almost like you want us all to leave.

I'm not stalking you. I just Googled your username along with the word "fanboy"
And why would you find it necessary to google my name and then take an eight year old post of mine and repost it here if not to add fuel to the fire. The FACT that you did this speaks far more about the kind of person you are than what you think it says about me. Frankly... I feel a sense of pity for you but that's beside the point.
Moderator(s): is the course of this discussion really what you want to see here? If you allow this sort of useless thread to exist, you're only encouraging more of the same. These complainers will ruin the forum just as they did the old forum.

Yep, please do your job and ban this extremely fanboyish troll who insults people who criticise the direction Chropera has taken. Thanks.

if someone doesnt like any particular thread, why dont they just ignore that thread
How can I do that?? AFAIK I need to read the thread first just so I know whether it's useless or not. How can I ignore before reading when reading is required to know if I'd like to ignore it?I can hold an opinion without giving you a reason.
But if you want your opinion to be of any use for me you must state the reason. However the OP did state his reason: "I am very disappointed because Opera has changed to the chromium based platform"
Yes I'll finish the copy/paste for you "meaning it is the same as Google Chrome now. I hate Google Chrome!"
This is not a valid reason. Opera is not the same as Chrome at all, so the thread doesn't make any sense at all. He says he hates Chrome/Chromium but he doesn't say the reason why, so it's impossible for anyone to figure out the reason and take this as valid feedback. Google is a traitor of what group of people and why? What they did? And again that doesn't affect anything in Opera as Opera Software has full control over the source code they're using in their product. How is anyone from Opera Software supposed to understand what the user wants with this thread? He didn't mention a single feature or behavior he misses or think that works worse in the new Opera browser so there's no way it'll be improved by his "feedback", and nothing in this thread points to a reason why they should go back to work on Opera-Presto either. He has a legit question... Well there's a politer way to ask that doesn't make your topic look like a classic ragequit thread with nothing inside to take into account. The answer to the question can also be find easily via a web search, but to point directly to the sources:

Ok, after finding it useless, lets throw 12 to 15 posts back and forth bashing each other, I guess it's more fun to one up each other and act liike little children, No need to close the thread, if the children would stop posting, it would automatically go down to the bottom of the list unseen, UNLESS someone wants to search for it to post more garbage.

I wish it was that simple, but if leushino didn't, someone else would post equally vague and useless posts of pure hate or hijack the thread for other things. Happened time and time again before. This forum was not meant for that.Freedom of Speech!
"Freedom of speech is the political right to communicate one's opinions and ideas using one's body and property to anyone who is willing to receive them."
It doesn't look like it covers these forums rules (or of many other sites on the web). -

Raphael, I'm not sure what you're referring to in the above statement, so please forgive me if I've misunderstood your intentions.
If you go back to the OP's first post he stated: "I hate Google Chrome! I think Google are traitors to us the people. Now I guess I will never use Opera again because of this. I hate Opera 20 and Opera Next! Back to Firefox I go....
Why did Opera stop making the good browser like 12.16? That was my favorite browser."
Following that I asked the moderator to close the thread for obvious reasons... reasons you and others have supported during this discussion. It was not until Funksoulbro personally attacked me by "intentionally" digging back through archives to find a post from 8 years ago in order to discredit me that the entire discussion went south. And that sort of thing has happened countless times due to one simple fact: disgruntled Opera Presto users cannot stand anyone "defending" Opera and will immediately gang up on that person who is labeled a shill and/or a fanboy. For someone to intentionally do this demonstrates the real culprit in this particular thread.
As for freedom of speech: how is that even relevant in a moderated forum? You are NOT free to violate the terms of service and Pesala clearly stated them.

"Funksoulbro... you're a rather pathetic individual who appears to enjoy stalking me. Here's a thought: why not take a long walk off a short pier?"
This is against the forum rules. Please ban this troll. He's been getting away with insulting other users for far too long, just because he can't stand people criticising Chropera. Angry, delusional fanboys shouldn't be allowed here. Leushino himself said that it makes the forum a horrible place to come - that was before he turned into the biggest fanboy of them all of course.

Note the words after the bit I've highlighted, in reference to this very forum: -
"A few of the more fanatical characters over there.........have more or less turned me off from posting as well as referring my friends to their product."
This guy was talking about himself in the future, which is why he simply must be banned.

There is more than one kind of 'search' involved. Unfortunately, cluttering up the forum search results is what repetitive, complaint threads like this do... and will continue to do so for months/years to come. For example, a user trying to answer a question about "Opera changes" will get this thread as one of his early results. And no, it's not that big of a deal - yet. But as time passes, and more and more almost-identical, nonproductive complaint threads get posted, the search clutter builds and builds. The primary purpose of Opera's forums has always been for users to ask questions or describe browser problems, and for other users to supply answers - and the forum search engine operates from that premise. That's why the forum rules tell users to search for similar topics before posting. The more threads that are created to simply spout off about user discontent, the more those users with technical problems will have to wade through when forum-searching for already-existing relevant threads.

Sorry, I see how what I wrote may not be clear to interpret.
Replying to colderwinters advice to ignore the topic until it's buried in the second page of the topics list (because why having rules, right?), I meant that if you didn't post anything, someone else would post (bumping the thread). And that "someone else" would probably post more vague hate statements or steal the thread subject to something else like has been done many times before (not meaning you did that). -

No, I mean that when he wrote that, he was talking about himself in the future. He's turned into the very fanboy that he used to berate. The type of person that blindly defends Opera, tossing out insults and calling for threads to be locked when someone says "hey, I don't like this". It's very sad indeed, but I don't care about that - I do care that he's ruining this forum though, and turning the atmosphere sour in tons of threads with his awful attitude.

HAHAHA, leushino is the one turning the atmosphere sour and not the kind of people like the OP of this topic?Look I'm laughing so hard at the cropped screenshot you posted... Partly because it's from 9 years ago and the people who were members/moderators probably aren't the same anymore, and partly because since it's cropped it's completely out of context... And then there's the fact that you think that people can't change their minds in 9 years...
From what I've seen leushino only replies with insults for some reason, like when someone attacks him personally, like you did, in this very thread. He replied to the person in the thread normally until you started attacking him.
I can see that you know each other from another thread in the past, then I'm willing to believe - from my observation until now - if leushino attacked you or someone else there, there must have been a reason. A valid reason, until proven otherwise. -

The people who write these threads say they are leaving Opera. Fine, then leave. But they never do. They come back every day. It's like a broken record. What kind of anger and malice drives all of this. There are many people happy with the New Opera. Don't poison them. If you are unhappy, then move on to another browser and another forum.
