It seems Opera just doesn't necessarily care that it doesn't work properly in Texas, and the fact that a VPN causes it to work is the only way to play around with Aria, is truly disappointing. So I guess being frustrated is the name of the game for this bug. Mine also doesn't work here in DFW, so it's most definitely a bug related to Texas.

Ugh! So it's a Texas thing. I'm also in Texas and I was confused why I couldn't use it.. that really sucks I want to use Aria!

Got mine to work by activating the VPN on the browser. Using it on iPhone, traveling in Texas

Opera must consider Texas a separate country. I came to find out about Arai but find myself blocked instead.

Houston, TX. This thread started July 10 and here it is December 24 and this still isn’t fixed. That’s a long time for a bug to go unfixed.

@semfreak @Aeroboy10 @agentrecker @everyone
Some AI services may not be available in Texas due to complex regulatory landscapes across the globe. Different countries have different laws regarding data privacy, AI usage, and intellectual property rights. AI companies must navigate these complex legal landscapes to ensure they’re operating within the law in every region they serve.
I'm not sure if this is the issue with Opera, but it might be.
Hi, I'm Best_codes! I'm a full-stack web dev who moderates on the makeblock forum. I have a website, https://bestcodes.dev. I love Opera, so I'm on here occasionally to report bugs and answer some questions.

@bestcodes Except it's the US, and it's available in the rest of the US. I could hear that it's a state law, but all other AIs work perfectly fine (ChatGPT, Bard...) so... doubt it. And if it was the case, surely Opera would have answered by now, this was reported back in what, July?

I'm in the US, and not currently using a VPN, but Aria says the service is not available in my area.

I thought this only happened to me, I'm from Iran and it has the same issue even when i change my region.
Please someone give a fix. -

@thelittleevil Iran is one of the countries for which it is intended for the service to not be available

I am in the US and just get a response saying not available in my region...

South Dallas - it says it's not available. Stupidly ridiculous. Save for frozen Alaska, Texas is the largest state in the US with massive technology headquarters and tech users.
Well, Opera is still the only browser that properly reformats desktop pages based on zoom level, so it'll continue being my most usable browser on phone and tablet on Android, but it's a shame AI integration is not usable.
Is anyone at Opera listening?

It's been six months with no response (nor fix, obviously), so I guess that answers that
