@canadagoose4everreturns Not everyone have the nerves to argue with someone because most of the time (and this is the case) its pointless withnout any results. So why would he bother to explain something to someone if he knows that it have no point and no impact?

@leocg There was quite a lot of feedback but no results. Please dont bother even answer by defending developers because I have a dev version of Opera and I know that developers didnt implement/fix any of our feedback.
They have their own "world" and dont bother with feedback or users at all just like most of the devs these days. So is there even point of this whole feedback forum? -

@aja66 said in That awful startup sound:
You only have to rename opera_gx_splash.exe to opera_gx_splash_old.exe.
And do this on every update?

@kiny-ohara I just tried it yesterday. You may have to repeat it with the next update if a new opera_gx_splash.exe is installed; that would be annoying, but better than nothing and above all without interfering with the registry! Maybe someday there will be a way to disable the splash screen along with the sound in the settings.

Ads block is not work properly.
I only use opera to block annoying ads but currently opera one allow ads which they decided allowable. There is switch but I think it doesn't work properly. -

My client just updated to Opera One and I already hate it. The UI/UX changes are atrocious:
- What's with the borders? Everything feels smaller because of them.
- I can't scroll with my mouse on the far right of the screen because of those dumb borders.
- I can't close tabs with the middle mouse click when the mouse is on top of the screen.
And these are things I noticed after using it for 5 minutes, can't wait to notice more annoying changes. I'm already downloading Vivaldi, I guess I'll give Opera another chance later, but I'm not optimistic.
Sincerely, someone that has only been using Opera for +6 years.

Who the hell had the idea for such a design?
Is there any way to change those crap purle color and remove those rounded edges on every field?
This Browser gets every time more worse.

Like many others here, for the same reason(s) that have been repeatedly listed and consistently ignored, I am moving along. I've been down this road before and as sure there is no coming back from this. Even if (when) the developers are forced to do something due to their rapidly declining user base, it will be a half hearted attempt at kind sorta going back to the way things were with a sloppy mix of the old and new "features". It will never be as good again. Anyway, I have reverted and locked down version 99 but I know this will not last forever. Where is everyone else moving to? I am familiar with Chrome and Edge, but would like to know what other browsers the soon-to-be former Opera users here like, since we likely have similar tastes in browsers. Thanks for and info, and whomever leaves here last don't forget to turn out the lights...

You've deleted my thread about my complain so I'll write it here again.
Contexts doesn't save tabs opened in them, when closing the browsing. It doesn't restore them as windows do.
But, you have had to screw up this too, as of now, opera doesn't close all open windows with tabs at once, but separetely, and it doesn't recover them. You need to do it by one from the history menu -

@forestworker90 I never heard of Maxthon. But it's the first browser (yes, I installed it) that has a SPEED DIAL like opera built in. It's also crazy fast! I'll have to check it out.

@leocg I have been using Opera for well over a decade because Opera was the go to browser for those with disabilities and was suggested by a friend. I have severe vision problems and a major change from the style of Opera I have used for 10 years to a complete redesign to Opera One means I now have to relearn all mouse movements and where things are, in other words it will take several months.
It is 3:45 AM and I have been struggling with this thing for the past 5 hours! I have been searching and searching on how to revert this thing to the previous version before tonight's update, but all I can find are people saying to download a previous version without saying how or where, or finding information years old with links to versions from 2013! Unless I can get this resolved soon I will be forced to resume my old life where the internet was shut out for me.

Does anyone know how to get back the 'speed dial' button that was right in front of the web address on every page? I used it all the time and it's gone.

@justanotheruserleaving My attempts at reverting to 99 fail every time. I have even changed the tasks in task manager only to have it update as soon as I connect to the internet again.

I haven't read through all of the feedback above, but I can keep my own statement very brief.
I find this way of simply taking away user interfaces that the user has come to love and familiar with and replacing them with a horribly ugly "new" one, as in the case of One, to be disrespectful and arrogant. In this way, you can very purposefully book market shares in the dustbin.
Just offer a "classic theme" option and everyone would be helped. How did the One Theme actually make it through quality control?!
I'm now switching to another browser and will see in 2 months whether you still don't care about your customers/users. In that case, you only have to uninstall your software.
Unfortunately, that is a pity!
Please reconsider your product strategy.
Best regards
a frustrated and disappointed user
