@JasonGr What driving makes you crazy? Because of the Opera update or what?

@leocg said in Minimized windows move to foreground:
@jasongr I used to have a similar issue, with a tab getting focus and moving to foreground when it updated.
Same here

I am having the same issue and it is quite frustrating. I click on tab #1 and it jumps back to tab #2. I again click on tab #1 and it immediately jumps back to tab #2. It's like Opera is a 2-year old, saying "No, I want to got to tab 2".

Following problem.
I have two windows open.
Window 1 has a stream/videos running. Window 2 is the window in which I am active and writing. For example as now in the message.
While writing/but also when changing tabs or without clicking anything, Opera changes the focus to window 1. Sometimes I end the stream with certain key combinations or pause/move it. -

@sisyphosbln Known issue. It had disappeared but seems to have returned now.
They are working on a fix.

@taymallah The issue is. Windows randomly jump to the foreground which move focus away from what I'm doing, like writing/designing/etc... that is what is driving me crazy.

@rekameohs This happens constantly. With this update multitasking is a nightmare.
In the middle of a meeting a random youtube video just started playing. I couldn't figure out where it was coming from and eventually just had to kill Opera and rejoin the meeting.

Since the most recent update, Opera now automatically switches focus to another tab or browser when a page is loaded. How to disable this in settings? I can't find the option to turn this feature off.

When I have multiple windows open, and attempt to minimize one to focus on another, the minimized window reopens at the foreground after about 30 seconds. This is eating energy. I think this has been mentioned before and will probably be fixed soon.

@leocg It's happening to me and it's nuts. I restarted, uninstalled and reinstalled...nothing helps.

Same problem here, thought was windows at first, but now it's clear it's opera. Man this is annoying. It looks like a broken internet explorer at this point. I don't think they want to fix it, I think they want to drive us to use something else.
I think it happens every time there's a visual change on the screen. Like you open e'mail, and then alt tab to another screen, but then the email loads the ads, it switches back to the email without you wanting it to. -

Confirmed with 100.0.4815.54 on Win10.
Opera randomly jumps between open windows.

@vegelund If you disable notifications in settings, does that help? Many versions ago there was similar issue, then it was caused by conflict of Opera and MS Teams.

I'm not using time on troubleshooting, as I most often have one window active in Opera.

@donq I've set "quieter" notifications since I don't want to block notifications on all sites. I'll update if this seems to have solved the problem but it may be difficult since the issue itself isn't something I can simply replicate, I just have to wait and see if Opera does its thing.

@donq I tried disabling all notifications through settings in Opera, does not help.
A nice troubleshooting option is an open Slack tab, after max. a few minutes in any other tab / Opera window I jump back to the Slack tab.
Is there any more documented / official bug tracking than this forum to follow the bug?

@jasongr It is very easy to duplicate. Go to a news site of your choice, eg cnn.com (Window A). Right-click on a story and open in a new window (B). Immediately, click back to cnn.com (Window A). Opera will immediately toggle back to Window B while it continues to load. It may help to be on a slower Internet connection, so everything doesn't load as quick.
